Umpires do influence the results of games too often

Heres what Ive done the last 2 weeks

PA V EG
Backed PA V EG at Alberton last week
PA got many more decisions in their favor, but lost

EG V NA
This time I backed EG to beat NA
I am extremely fortunate to collect
The umpiring was in favor of EG
If there was a protest by NA I would have upheld it

Bad kicking for goal is bad football , NA did squander chances in the last qtr
Had they lost because of the bad kicking, they would have themselves to blame
But to lose to a decision like that when the game ended is unfair


So there you have it, I was on 2 teams on the punt in 2 weeks that got a ride

if North had of kicked goals instead of missing then the last decision of the day wouldn't have influenced the result

3/4 time. Scores are level. North kick 1.5 to 2.1.

So they kicked poorly, especially in the last quarter, lost by 2 points but a third party is at fault? Even a QC wouldn't like his chances.

NA very close to Eags in 6th spot

The NUMBER of frees you get is almost irrelevant.
It's WHEN & WHERE you get them that counts.

Heres an email from an extremely knowledgeable football scribe

Everyone who was close to the decision and watching from head on, both North and Torrens supporters , reckons that it was the worst decision they have ever seen.
They reckon that not only was Campbell hit around the head, but he got a handball away when tackled as well.
Browne, on 5RPH said that he definitely handballed when tackled.

It is done and dusted now but I spoke with 2 ex North players and 2 ex Eagles players after the match who were watching from the past players tent and they all said exactly the same thing!

People can go on about bad kicking for goal which both teams were guilty of but the fact is the match was decided by a shocking umpring decision!

The only thing that matters is that if you cop the wrong decision on the siren it does matter

Players make 10 times more mistakes in a game of footy than umpires.

Good sides dont let umpires get the opportunity to decide a game with one decision.

p it doesn't come into consideration if you follow the Gays getting within 100 points should be you're next concern

Amidst whatever punctuation you've attempted here, you still managed to spell gays with a capital G.

Maybe that player had the same view as the delusional umpire from behind the play, rather than from the scoreboard side where even the Eagles supporters around us couldn't believe what happened after the whistle blew.

I couldn't believe it either , thought the two north fatties running down to the fence were going to have a heart attack and damage the sponsorship signs.

True, and for being in that position, North only have themselves to blame, however.......

North were in that position and desperately trying to hang on for a win, if no decision was paid (or one the other way) North would have won, therefore,

The umpire's decision DID change the outcome of the game, Mal is correct as are the dozens of other people that saw the high tackle and saw the correct disposal, contrary to what I always believed, an umpire can change the result of the game.

It would have been a bad decision at any time of the game, anywhere on the field to any side, but where & when it was paid makes it a whole lot worse, I've slept on this and gone for a 4 hour push bike ride to post with a clear head, nothing can change the fact that that was one of the most disgraceful decisions I've ever seen and yes, North were robbed!!

If that same decision had gone against your team I wonder if you would say nothing and cop it sweet.

I have no issue with the poor kicking etc. andf we were our own worst enemy there and so were the Eagles earlier in the game but the issue that cost us was a clealry wrong umpiring call. What bit of that don't you get?

either they're all in denial or just plain thick, the look on the Eagles supporters faces in front of us when the free was paid said it all
