Lots of new faces donning the Raider guernsey in their first official match for the club tomorrow, I reckon our supporters are very excited to see these lads turn it on and wish them all the best of luck.

Finally, thanks to all fine ladies and gents who voted for the club in the Hahn Super Dry comp, you nailed us $1700 of Super Dry gear. Toot toot![

How does Mottram go mate?

In fairness to Motts, he did come in halfway through the season and was very underdone. I'm sure he's had a good preseason out at Smithfield and is the better for it.

CLG d Ingle Farm 29g to 8g

Half time was 17g to 2, Ingle Farm looked lazy, complacent unaccountable and CLG ran hard and moved the ball well to expose it.

Its no excuse but Ingle Farm still have a handfull to come back in - away on cricket trip, injured, not yet cleared, but still the performance in the 1st half was nothing short of dismal.

There's always a lot of talent around a D1 club particuarly in Round 1. The Sharks will be a hand full this season.

Lockleys were very impressive today, would expect them to push top 3. As impressive as Lockleys were, Mitchell Park were very ordinary and looks like a tough year is ahead for them.
Good to see the Sharks with a good first up win - should be a tight comp this year...

No Green, Tapp, Kuhar or Gilby. Starry isn't likely to play this year due to work commitments

Dow played Reserves and broke the fence with his mighty frame.

It was a very good game between us and the Sharks today, very fast and free flowing. Henley got the jump on us on the first quarter, and we spent much of the game pegging back the lead. We were within a goal several times during the last half, but they would just jag one or two and give themselves some breathing space.

lockleys were very good but it was hard to say how good they are going to be with the opposition or lack of it they had.their were no incidents yesterday to the point that the game was very flat.good to see both teams started the game with no special setups except man on man across the ground.the demons played a very good free flowing game but in the end to be honest it was just a training drill with 4 players from the lions b grade also playing a grade.it is always sad to see clubs struggle and yesterday i was absolutely shattered to see what has happened to my old club.the boys just need to stick together and fight with everything they have to keep this great club together.at least in footy their is always next week to redeem yourself as the kangaroos proved
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

Nothing out of the ordinary they're just passionate like the rest of us. "The Minties" were very well behaved yesterday and from my experience with the lads from "Quick Rd" it has always been the same...
At "Home" when the JB's kick in with the mob in front of the Clubrooms, they certainly can get their tales up.
And "Away" they're generally very well behaved.
Yesterday we hit the ground running with a lot of depth, run and a solid pre-season and Mitchell Pk looked very underdone and very slow. Pretty hard to get agro when you're getting pumped. Mitchell Pk will get better and deserve a fair go.

What I found still very frustrating after 20 odd years in this "merry go round" was the standard of umpiring. Respectfully ;) You get 68 year old umpire "Fred" with his younger brother 67 year old "Fred Jr" they're so out of position and behind the play....they miss the 1st Free Kick, then they miss the 2nd and then finally pay the 3rd because they realise they may have missed something....UNBELIEVABLE!
One side is dominating the game, the scoreboard, winning the ball at every contest, but are behind on the Free Kick count 45 to 10.
Who has the "Duty of Care" for the players, the game and even the poor ol'Bloke blowing the whistle? One of these days someone will fall off the perch and who will be responsible? Wonder what the boy's and girls at Thebbie Oval will do then...probably Duck for Cover :?
