Wait until the thousands effected by Holdens shutdown are out there doing that too.

Oh, and if you're under 30 you won't get any dole.

Good on him, did you happen to grab a resume?

A few more sparkies out of work at the moment as well

Sure is. Things won't get better too quickly, either.

My brother in law recently knocked back a full time position in the mines up in WA, to be back here spending time with his fiance' and trying to build his business. They have just taken out a goliath home loan too.

One would think any sparkie (contractor, apprentice or business owner), will have to fight a hell of a lot more harder to compete for business with the recent layoff.

So its good to be back and making some decent beer.

I recently brewed up around 60litres of stout

I tried my first one last weekend after only 1 week in the bottle just to take down tasting notes on how it improves over time and it was just brilliant

yesterday I did 3 brews

1 - was 3 cans of coopers European lager + 3kg of BEH2 + 1.5kg of light dry malt extract brewed to 51litres
2 - Mexican cerveza + 1 kg BEH 2 + 500g light dry malt extract to 17 litres (will be in prime condition for summer)
3 - coopers stout + 1kg BEH 1 + 500g light dme to 20 litres

just tried my apple cider

you get the $3 homebrand apple juice from woollies/coles for 3litres

take out a cup of juice

add in a cup of sugar/dextrose/malt extract

add yeast either a champagne yeast If you want a dry champers or an ale yeast for a cider

well I just tried mine - I did 3 batches of cider and 2 of champers

the cider comes out at 10% and tastes beautiful

They'll still need to find workers for all the contracts that Boffa and Russo have left unfinished and it makes sense to employ those blokes that were on the site previously.

I rate having some beers with @Booney and @carey at the footy tonight. They're both top blokes, and good company to boot.

Carey's young fella almost stole the show tonight, and with a little guidance, will go quite alright with the ladies.

Apologies to @valleys07 for not being able to catch up. I hope to catch you next time around.

Was great to catch you blokes. Was a good night.

Well, until I hit the Cas for an hour, picked up a couple of hundred.

Then woke up 3 stops past my stop on the train! D'oh!

My wife calmed down a bit last night after I suggested we buy pizza.

My mate getting nibbled on by a shark yesterday... and not dying...

Was a mere scratch, but anyone who has a run in with a shark (no matter what size) and comes out with all limbs etc still attached is definitely rate worthy...
