WTF?
I agree with Rucci, time for there to be only 1 showdown each year, why would the AFL persist with 2 when the fans just dont show up?
Disgraceful and embaressing to SA..
There will be alot more than that there, but it is difficult at the moment with the Show on as well. That always takes away some younger types that would have gone to the football.
Also I dont know what it is with you but the day that the roo's get more than 31k to a home final is the day you can call other supporters soft.
There you are have a nice troll...mate.
WTF are you on Stan? you bump a post made 7 weeks ago and apply it to this weeks final which I have made no comment about?![]()
Who is trolling mate?![]()
for the record last year the Geelong/Roos final drew 77,000 and Hawks/Roos drew 74,000....
For chist sakes dutchey dont you get this yet.
You say something then I bag you, I say something you bag me.
For god sakes I thought we had been doing this long enough now, sharpen up hammer!

Re: Adelaide AFL fans = SOFT
I thought it was a Port home game, lots of teal and empty seats around yesterday.
37,000 simply is not good enough and Adelaide FC would be dissappointed with the turn out,no doubt.Perfect day,Saturday afternoon,no excuses.
Yes,the title is right, they are soft.

Re: Adelaide AFL fans = SOFT
Must admit its a weird one, Mrs Wedgie is a mad crows fan but she didn't even consider going as both our kids had their last day of sports and presentations after that. I know thats only an excuse for 1 person and her daughter but Im assuming that it was the last day of sports for most kids who play netball and football in the state and if so thats a hell of a lot of Crows supporters as that demographic would be a large one for them? (ie employed parents with teeth)
Personally despite being a footy fan I wouldn't consider going to Football Park for a game like that but if it was at a decent stadium in the middle of town (ie NOT Adelaide Oval) I'd definately go, probably get similar crowds to Melbourne if we had similar facilities IMHO.

Re: Adelaide AFL fans = SOFT
Amateur League Finals yesterday would've had an impact.
As a Collingwood supporter, I love the fact that I could go & see my team for $37.50- price could not be the issue here surely?
NorMALly I'd be up for airfares & accomodation.
The result was great.

That only effects 2 clubs in each Div, which means it also releases plenty who cant normally go

Re: Adelaide AFL fans = SOFT
But many of us would rather go watch local footy than anything else. You get to drink out of an esky, eat steak sangas from the club barbie (although CLG's was non-existent on saturday
), and kick the footy around.
I'm a Pies supporter and my mates are Crows fans and we had the option of going to the game, but it was clear what we'd rather do.

not necessarily- potentially 4 clubs x 7 Divisions, plus another 2 clubs x 5 Divisions. I went down to Thebby to watch our B grade, but left early into the last 1/4 to get to Footy Park.
Also, you have the team with the weeks rest (potentially another 12 clubs).
Not making exscuses for the poor turnout, but your grassroots football supporter may choose to go locally, as for the theatre-goers- soft.

Re: Adelaide AFL fans = SOFT
History shows that Friday or Saturday night is the right time for AFL finals in Adelaide at this time of year.
Back in 2003 the Crows played West Coast on a perfect Saturday afternoon and 38,000 people went - no "soft" talk then. It's just not the best time.
I don't have the crowd for Sat afternoon final v West Coast in 1997
The AFL is obsessed with the Sydney market so the Swans always get the prime Sat night timeslot. The AFL is also tied to the TV networks and so only delays the game 1/2 hour on TV, which also hurts attendances.
