I left 11th after leaders went thru and made my way to the 15th green. By that stage theyd have been on 13th and AK had gone birdie/birdie and Rahmbo par/par and all of a sudden they were tied.
The reception he got arriving at the 15th green was that of a winner. Never really heard a crowd basically cheering for one man like that.
Saw his birdie putt on 17th and thats probably where he clinched it, Rahm narrowly missed his birdie.
He and the crowd went nuts.

What a win, 5 back and had to get past Bryson and Rahm to win it.
Think he was 1 shot off course record today

Already come out and said less tickets will be available so get in quick. Won’t fit 38k in at Kooey, lucky to fit 10k  No record crowd announcements in 2027 or 2028.

For some reason I was drawn to AK's story when he joined LIV, I vaguely remember him from the past. I followed him on social media and read everything about his story and listened to all of his interviews. I was very disappointed when he got dropped off the tour last year, he was about to miss the cut in the promotions event and made a 12 footer on the last to make the final day and from there he qualified back.

The way he played last year I felt making it to the middle of the pack this year would be a great result, I never saw a top 5, let alone winning, coming.

Its one of the best comeback stories in any sport, he was a junkie. Its got a movie written all over it.

Hope now he can really push his way into some majors.

Same boat but a little smaller.
His interactions with the crowd in year 1 really drew people in to his corner.

I didnt realise he had visa issues before this event

Grabbed grounds for Friday and Saturday next year.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

I dont know about that, they will try and cram in as many people as possible, will be like sardines, wont be able to have half the food options, drink stations, toilets will be a debacle, can see it being a mess. Live one street away so may charge $50 for cars to park here though :D

Im actually surprised they didn't bump up the price for next year to offset the reduction in numbers, they will sell out anyway.

They did.

The Garden on the party hole 15th is effectively the Beach club on the 12th at Grange.

Gone from about $750 a day to $1150-1200 a day.

Oh so the corporates has gone up, which makes sense, I got a Friday GA ticket for $80 which is what I paid this year.

Interesting having the 15th as the party hole, it will be play nearly 200m for the event I would have thought, it does have the space around it that the 14th doesn't have so makes sense from that perspective.

The redevelopment of the course is a good thing with or without LIV, public course in a prime city location next to AO and Convention centre is worth investing in, its very tired in it current form
Agreed, but it will be a lot harder to sell without a tournament in place for it. Ladies open doesnt need it.
