I question whether racial vilification of a white dude is even possible, though that might be a philosophical debate best left for other forums.
One would suggest we ALL need to work harder as a society toward equality regardless of colour or nationality.
Agreed Yank. Whilst I agree with the notion that white man will never be treated as harshly as black man were in the past, nor be as emotionally affected through a racial slur- I do think its important for both sides to understand that, no matter what has occured in the past- attacking someone based on race, religion or sexual orientation is not on.

We do have some ripper supporters that's for sure!
I guess one thing everyone should be able to agree on in here is that hopefully from this day forward people might think twice before doing or saying anything that vilifies or discriminates others of any description. Lets play some footy. Looking forward to the last part of this season and next season already.

Yes this about footy now adr107, but as it would be in your neck of the woods and certainly mine, if you fight fire with fire........... You end up homeless.

Don't want to make excuses or try and justify someone else actions, but given the feedback that came out from the game, could the umpire have played his fair part in creating this situation and is the punishment a bit extreme?
Is it the same Damien Rigney that would be about 35-40 years old
If so I'm shocked!!!
Have had a fair bit to do with him at work previously and he seemed a very placid, well grounded genuine nice bloke
The Damien I know wouldnt lose his shit unless he thought he was provoked
