So they pay their fees by the weekend they'll be right to go - or will this result stand and serve as a lesson to all who fail to meet their obligations?

The ramifications on this are a far broader issue than just Elizabeth missing out on 2 pts. Without being disrespectful it's hard to make a case for Mawson Lakes to beat Elizabeth this weekend so to hand them 2pts and a 10 goal win dramatically helps them avoid relegation ahead of other teams who they will be fighting for. If I were one of the other clubs fighting to stay in div6 I would be filthy that could well be the difference. The only way you could keep the division fair would be to only effect Elizabeth via a fine or take their already awarded points away.

What a beat up! Was never going to happen anyway it's just the League waving a big stick, showing what they can do!
Bit like Kim Jong Oon (I'll await my email from JK for that remark )
Seriously though, i think it's pretty fair - if it's ok for the other 63 clubs to pay on time, then it should be for others, just like any organisation - if you're going to pay late, let them know beforehand and they can normally work something out. Leave it till after the due date and cop the fine.
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit
Think it's fair to say the action this morning on SportingPulse got the reaction/desired result it wanted, and serves as a strong warning to all clubs to do the right thing or face the consequences.
Regardless of the games going ahead this weekend, and those "forfeits" being cleared, the league has shown it is capable of enforcing such actions and clubs should be more diligent with their affairs in future, and I would be very surprised if we saw a club lapse again this season.
Actions speak louder than words, this mornings action will have a greater impact on club accountability than a phone call or email to remind them - this is something all the members and peers can visible see.

Probably lucky that the 1st was on a Monday as well, next month its a Thursday and my guess would be if you are late then the forfeit will stand

You got it. They are blowing the salary cap, the combined tally of 0 losses this year have the players horribly unsettled. How they can come back from this we will never know..
Or, the treasurer made a human error in forgetting to pay the bill..
