Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge
94.8Kg - up 0.8.
I seem to be stuck here lately just fluctuating between 94 and 95.
Hopefully with the weather warming up, and having recovered from my surgery fairly fully now, I'll get out and about more.

I'm gonna suggest that the period was February until now...
The "How" is a mystery...

Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge
Well over the last two years i had had heaps of Hammy problems and got lazy so i put on 30 kilos then i signed out at gaza and started running a couple of times a week got down to 120 before the season started then get lazy again. I sat at 120 till the whole season finished i had two weeks off then i started running 5 times a week doing about 4 to 6 k's a night and weights twice a week. My whole problem was motivation but after the first two weeks i started to love running.

Not to be facetious, but I believe you must be some kind of footballer if they signed you at 132kgs!

I've lost about what you're after by:
- Going to the gym at least twice a week straight after work (I know if I got home on the couch I'd never get off it!)
- Packing a lunchbox - usually a series of snacks (ie, a muesli bar, some rice snacks, & a piece of fruit) that I eat every couple of hours plus a small lunch (ie can of soup, can of tuna & toast)
- Going for a walk in my lunchbreak (just started doing this), which is just nice to get out of the office regardless of fitness benefits.
- Only drinking on weekends (starting Friday night of course!)
- Not buying any chips/chocolate/ice cream/dodgy snacks, if they're around the house I'll eat them.
- Trying to keep nightly meals as healthy as possible - avoiding anything that contains heaps of oil, butter, cream etc.
Following these few rules gives me a good balance I find, and therefore is much easier to sustain. I still have a few beers on the weekend, go out to the pub for a schnitzel occasionally etc. so it's not extreme dieting or anything like that.

Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge
Ive done a similar thing Ginger
From a eating side of things,
I start the day off with either cereal or 2 pieces of toast. (thats my carbs for the day)
to work I take a salad which usually consists of lettuce, cucumber, carrot, beetroot, cheese and either chicken or turkey.
I also have a bit of cut up fruit or a piece of fruit for either during the morning or afternoon.
Dinner is pretty boring as I dont eat tuna or salmon.
So its either steak and veg or chicken and veg. Salad sometimes instead of the veg.
Im not drinking at all at the moment, but will start to enjoy a few beers on special occasions. EG I have a wedding this weekend. Other then that I have only been drinking water, average 3-4L a day.
Then along with that, I go to the gym almost every night after work. Will usually do my heavy strength weights then do a good half hour to 45mins of cardio (boxing, skipping, circuit work). Saturdays is a relax day and do a hard training session every sunday morning!
My main thing is not eating carbs (i have some for brekky and thats it), hard but seems to be working at the moment.
I havent set myself a weight goal cause with the weights I may loose fat but will put it on in muscle. Going for more size difference. Bigger chest and arms with a smaller gut!
Aim is to be the fittest Ive been come end of pre season ready for my 15month return to footy.
If I stick at it should be easily done as Ive never done a pre season before and will be attempting one starting tomoz night!
One of the girls at work walks at lunch and asked me to come, she aint to shabby either so may start walking at lunch aswell

Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge
55.4 - quite impressed seeing as I have done bugger-all in the way of fitness. I think it's the migraines, they made me vomit. Oh well, at least something good came of them!
Can't go running at the moment because of my head and neck problems but I'm making a point of taking Luke for a fairly long walk each day, so should start getting results a bit quicker now.

Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge
I'm down to 92kg.
Some tips-
There are good carb's & bad carb's. Don't be put of foods that have good carb's- carb's are fuel, & you can't exist on an empty tank.
Start the day off with breakfast, & plan your meals- it's easier to prepare a healthy lunch at home than buy one (& you'll waste time pondering what to have, & can end up frustrated & take the easy/bad option)
Drink water, & plenty of it- a hydrated body works more efficiently than a dehydrated one, including burning off excess weight.
Eat as many natural foods in their natural state.
Don't drink milk- it puts weight on.
Scales alone do not tell the story- an exercise regime will result in muscle building (legs, arms etc), & muscle is heavier than fat (so essentially, someone an unhealthy at 94kg can become a healthy 94kg)
I have given up my Feel Good Ice Coffees each day- replaced with water.
I also take lunch now, meaning I control in advance what i'll eat (salads, cold meat & fruit)
The above is also saving quite a bit of coin.

Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge
My first post in this thread for a hell of a long time and my first weigh in for 5 months.
I have had a horror run with illness and injury over the last 6 months or so. I suffered murderous pain from shin splints compounded with knee, back and hamstring trouble.
I tried to keep up some level of activity but had to cut my exercise routine down to about 1/2 of what I was previously doing and had 2 complete spells of a month to try and recover.
I finally think things have come good, having done 8 sessions and pulling up pain free each time. I expected my weight would be up from last weigh in (July I think) but I was hoping the little bit I was doing would keep it in check to a degree. Not to be.
128.5 up by 5kg.
Disappointed by the amount I packed back on,but am hoping for a small loss between now and years end.
