Hmm dont know where you get your info, but at least 2 comments there are wrong my friend.

1st haven't seen 4 blokes at Kilburn, unless they are there in spirit.
2nd more than 9 on Monday night.

Hope your not just trying to stir the pot :P

I guess it's fair to say that you were'nt down at Kilburn last night. If you were, you would know that there were four of last years players out there. And I did'nt say there were nine on the track.I said about nine, and I'll repeat, the info came from one of the "about nine"that actually was there.

so 04PC i thought you were in sydney... or are you someone different?!? otherwise name the 4 who were at kilburn and then i might believe you... and the person you spoke to (???) can't count... i was also there and we had about 18, not the best numbers but not 9...

1 - we have nominated 2 sides in Div 7
2 - we have around 55-60 names on our list (i have seen the list) and getting around 25-30 on the track atm with 10 or more calls to the coach from lazy suckers
3 - i think Rhino (b&f) has left but Klompy will probably play in the magoos
4 - we have appointed A and B grade coaches and assistants
5 - the club is not in big financial trouble
6 - we have over 90% of '08 players staying
7 - we will be competetive in Div 7 having played there a couple of years ago

any more questions?

theyhave 40 reg active players...avail on saafl clubs players/profiles. inactive players dont count

Sadly 13 of the 40 active players won't be at Oviingham this year. That leaves them with 27,which means they would have to recruit 25 players to realisticaly have a shot at two teams.

Where are they headed? back to Gepps? Tomorrow is D-day guess we'll find out then if 1 or 2 sides will go ahead for season 09.

You're right Nugget,I do live in Sydney,so I am the person you think I am.I won't name the four players who trained at Kilburn last night, for the simple reason that you will find out for yourself next week when the clearances come through. It's probably not that hard to work it out for yourself in the meantime.I do admire your loyalty to one C Newman, but from what I've been told, you're far too good a player and bloke to be involved with Ovingham, which,I might add,is a club that exists in name only these days. All of the history and tradition of the club were lost when a certain two players were banned from the club late last year. It's great to be able to say that you guys all one a flag together, but that pales in comparison to the death of a club that has been around for over 100 years (est 1906 in case you wondered).
I wonder if anyone there could tell me who the club captain was in 1999,or which position the club finished in 2002,or who the games record holder is?One more thing, you mentioned that Klompy will probably play reserves this year.Is the President telling you that, because the word I'm hearing is that he is happily retired, and has no intention what so ever of pulling on a guernsey.

Strange that one M Bennett is listed as an inactive Ovingham player.I hear he's been living in Sydney for the past four years and has been playing with a Div 1 club over there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No thanks, definitely not! Is there a tick box on the clearance form that says "Certainly not a required player"?

But the amount of cr*p they seem to be copping is beginning to get out of control! I know some of these lads personally and they are top blokes, i reckon i'm jumping on the ovies banwagon..

Some of them are top blokes, but the people running the club are sending it down the drain.

lol well since ive now claimed ive jumped on the banwagon do you mind if i quiz you haha?!

How are they sending it down the drain? What are they doing or rather not doing?
How can a club with "such proud history and tradition" have struggled to move up through the grades in the past?
How is banning (i dont know if its true, just a question) two members last season, a bad move which is helping bring their downfall?

I have read over the past year and a bit (and i have agreed with most of it) people throw slander at the ppl at ovies etc, how the club will fold and crumble, what they are doing wrong etc etc.. Where do these ideas begin? (just out of curiosity)

Nomadic people
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nomadic people (or nomads) are people who move from place to place, rather than staying in one place, primarily referred to as gypsies. Continually moving from place to place is their way of life.

let's talk tradition and history. when was the last time Ovies had two sides?

In 2004 Ovies won the flag, the year after the coach, M Bennet, couldn't get two sides together as much as he tried. So if we get two sides together this year then we've done what couldn't be done previously. BUT if we don't then we're in the same boat he was in?

Was he a failure for not gettin two sides together, did he cop the same treatment?

and out of interest, how many clubs does it take to become a gypsy?

Probably 3 in 3 years, Gepps Cross, Wingfield & Ovingham's not a bad starting point.

Then you maybe an exception, a lot of the guys at Ovies follow Chris Newman closer than his own shadow, I reckon they fit in the 3 from 3 category, what do you think?

What clubs have you played at and why did you change, any particular reason/s?
