I think 8th spot is up for grabs. WCE are without Nic Nat for pretty much the rest of the season and now have no Lycett this week for disciplinary reasons and they are not playing very consistent footy anyway. That last spot is definitely there for the taking for Port, Melbourne and Carlton.
I cant see Melbourne beating Sydney this weekend and Port are a huge chance to beat Freo even though its in in Perth. Win this week and Port's finals chances are still very much there
Port can't afford to slip up from now. Its finals footy all the way for them. otherwise time to break out the catalogues for Bali
When you look at Port's next 5 games it doesn't bode well for them. Freo, Richmond, both winnable, but then Hawks, North, GWS. Tough fixture for the Power and they have to rely on WCE, Crows and the Giants slipping up along the way to help their finals cause.
We beat the Hawks twice last year and North aren't going that well and they have a massive month ahead ( Hawks, Adelaide ( A) bye, West Coast (A) then Port at home ), GWS is the stick in the mud in the next month.
Not particularly reliable and a few results that can change in a hurry, but interesting to note the predictions in the paper today have Port 4 games out of the 8 at the end of the year. Plus that huge percentage gap makes it almost 5 games turnaround on expected results. That's a lot of surprise wins for Port and/or losses for WCE in 10 games or so.
I hear they extended Matt Whites contract another year. Why? He's about to turn 30, out injured and no other club would want him at this stage of his career. Why wouldn't they wait to see how he goes after returning from injury?
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Only extended for 12 months. Could easily give him the flick next season.

Right after they bring back 'The Butch'!
After watching the whole game on Sunday I didn't realise Butch played until I checked the teamsheet after the game when my sister asked me if Butcher played. He was pretty much nonexistent.

He's been non existent now for 7 years.

Yes he was easily Ports best on Sunday, should of been recalled instead of Amon
You disappoint me TDK
I'm really sorry to disappoint you Duck but I'm dealing in facts. He is the softest junior gun I've seen who refused to do competitive drills at the fear of being injured BUT he is definitely worthy of a spot ahead of Amon this weekend.
Obviously Port have heard and listened to your pleas to not pick him in the 1's and will continue to keep him in the reserves. They must be scared of you drunken wrath.

I don't care if he wins the freakin magarey medal, Toumpas is the worst footballer in Port Adelaide's history and should NEVER ever be selected in a Power team again. Hopefully Kenny realises this now. I'd rather see Johann Wagner recruited again than watch that squib play again. He's pathetic!
If you don’t like my words, don’t listen. If you don’t like my appearance, don’t look. If you don’t like my actions, turn your head; It’s as simple as that.

While on the subject, who has been the worst recruit Port have acquired over the years (recycled players only)?
