I'm no fan of his but he did coach the cows for 6 or 7 years, if he had nothing to offer he wouldn't have lasted that long. And did Melbourne have a choice, you dont get sacked in the morning and end up somewhere else in the afternoon without something already being in place.
I think Craig's role of "Director of Coaching" became redundant at Melbourne once Roos was appointed rather than him bring sacked for poor performance as such . I'll stand corrected there. And, yes, a long stint at the Crows with a high W-L ratio up until the last 12 months.
I assume it's only a one year deal at Essendon anyway?
