Green keeps his place just to cover Richardsons inevitable injury.

Absolutely love seeing Richardson back but not confident about his body at all, injury free ideally he plays before Doggett everyday of the week.Armchair expert wrote:Green keeps his place just to cover Richardsons inevitable injury.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
Not upset Green is playing when you have blokes like Ponting and G Chappell (better judges than anyone on here including yours truly) advocating his talent but as Punter says the chances are silly dismissals are running out and he’s got to start producing.
Like Steve Waugh on his last chance tour in 1989, time for Green to repay the faith in the next 12 months.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And to you.
Looks cool and overcast in Melbourne. Green top. Think there would be a lot of discussion over bat/bowl first.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
Sadly Weatherald fails again falling across his stumps. Massive deficiency that’s getting exposed at test level.
Probably has 3 more innings to get it right or that could be it within Renshaw and a few others in form.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
While I agree it's a deficiency of his I don't think he was falling across his stumps on this occasion, the delivery was going down the legside, he saw a scoring opportunity, played the right shot and unfortunately got his execution wrong. It's such an annoying way to get out.whufc wrote:Sadly Weatherald fails again falling across his stumps. Massive deficiency that’s getting exposed at test level.

I also agree that he has to get it right (and I hope he does) with guys such as Renshaw and Kellaway as the next options.

Watching the replay multiple times, vested interest as I way a pleb left hand opener who fell across at the lowest levels of cricket hahaThe Dark Knight wrote:While I agree it's a deficiency of his I don't think he was falling across his stumps on this occasion, the delivery was going down the legside, he saw a scoring opportunity, played the right shot and unfortunately got his execution wrong. He has a weird trigger movement that see his back foot (left foot) move backwards to almost closer to square leg than his front foot. Which then caused him to ‘play around his pad’
Most coaches I ever had always wanted us lefties to have a bit more of an open stance to prevent that issue lefties can often face where we can’t hit across the front pad.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
Lunch 4/72
Tongue and Atkinson have bowled well. Pigs was ordinary and if wickets had not been falling at the other end would have been even more expensive.
Looks like Carey and Khawaja will need a very good partnership to get us back in.

Re: The Ashes 25/26
Good session by England
Good session by all posters who have contributed in the session as well
4/72 Lunch
Pitch is suiting England's attack
Their trouble is Stokes has again gone on strike with the ball

Re: The Ashes 25/26
Not playing Potts over carse on this pitch was a big mistake. Great stuff by the other 2 lads, Tounge has surprised me with his consistency. Always was a wicket taker but just leaked to many runs in the past. Hes been fantastic today. Stokes must take the ball straight after lunch.
