Re: AFLW 2022
Watched the season opener last night between Carlton and Collingwood. Was a little disappointed in the crowd, but I guess Blues fans are still sad about last week.
Confess I haven't watched a lot of AFLW, but early on in particular thought the standard was pretty good. Foot skills for the most part were of a high standard, and general method of how they wanted to play was visible and reasonable.
Obviously as the game went on and fatigue/pressure kicked in these areas declined a bit.. but still.
You can see the girls who have clearly come through playing junior footy with the boys, then kept playing right through teenage years until now - they just look more natural, more comfortable and technically more astute.
One area that does look awkward is handballing.

Re: AFLW 2022
I too have picked up on the awkwardness of handballing in women's footy, I've been approached to coach a women's team next season and it is one thing that could sort the wheat from the chaff.
I've always recommended to be able to handpass with both hands more effectively that you use a round ball against a wall for 10-15 minute stints.

Re: AFLW 2022
I think it’s because their hands are not big enough to balance the football on them.
Good summary Bedge, the game improvement has been huge since round 1.

I think it's because they're not skilled enough.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Yep understand that but I still think it’s a bit too big for them to balance but needs to be the size it is so they can get distance with their kicks.
Just my opinion

I've always tried to find prospective girlfriends with small hands.

They tend to handball in a two step process not instinctively how men have developed the knack of collecting the ball and knowing if you are going to handball or kick before taking possession.
They adjust the ball and tend to look at it while they do.

Then, with all due respect, you don't get a right to an opinion on the matter.

The players don't abuse each other, they just don't talk to each other instead.
