Declare. Send the Indians in.
Back the fragile bowling unit.
Disagree
I would let Goat and Scotty bat for 35 minutes TOMorrow the declare 333 in front
That would snuff out Indias winning chance
Lead of 333
We can declare now

Great comedy factor in that last 30 mins, but agree with those that say we should have declared to get a few overs at them before stumps.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

My ranking of the Marshes:

Rod
(daylight)
(daylight)
(more daylight)
Geoff
Mitch
Shaun

Mitch trumps Shaun because at one point he could bowl a bit.
Probably in drinking capacity order too.
I reckon Mitch is a fiend, could keep up with his old man if he had to.

Bugga that bat till lunch tomorrow, give Gary a chance of 100 :D

serious though great fightback by the tail and important innings by Marnus when it went pear shaped in the middle

I’m happy we’ve batted on to give Cummins and Starc more rest

Plus there’ll be a few egos in the Indian side that’ll back themselves in to chase down 330+ in 85 odd overs

Massive last hour.
Took the stuffing out of a rampant and energised Indian side.
Bumrah stuffed after that last over.
Heads dropping everywhere.

Big .momentum change. Lyon, Cummins and Boland take a bow. Now what do we do? Declare or piss them off with a couple of swings just to flatten them.
If we declare now we will have 14 overs with a second new ball.

At last someone who agrees with me
The other thing is getting it down to 80-85 overs means we dont need to rely on a 5th bowler input

But they hold the trophy, so will be happy with a draw, then off to Sydney where the weather may be a factor.

Everyone was saying SA waited too long against Tassie, setting them 429.

We then dismissed them for 426.

Plenty of time for us to take ten wickets. It's true that we've forgone the chance to have a go at them for an awkward 30-minute period or so - and we probably could have started hitting out a bit more - but I reckon those runs could be valuable. Personally I don't buy that we had a better chance of winning this match by declaring.

Edit: great debate though.

The other thing is what if we set India 300 and did declare and they made the runs ?
