Most South supporters agree that a grandstand needs to built on Western wing in front of or over the top of the change rooms. the stratco carport is the only thing that lets the ground down. A grandstand was destined to built there in the initial plans that redeveloped the western entry and club extention but the cost was prohibative. However once the club has made substantial inroads into reducing the existing debt load, iám sure this will be looked at. You're right when you say it splits the crowd in two and in doing so loses some atmosphere, but with further ground development this will be fixed.

Thank darley, didn't know it was the same dimensions as Footy Park, perhaps the open mounds make it seem a lot wider.

Thought that the western wing would be a work in progress and stretched resources and not designed as it is now. I don't necessarily think it needs a full grandstand, I reckon to an undercover sheltered standing area with the back to the sea where people could have a beer would be ideal, keep a bit of that appeal to the country footy fans of the south.

And how wide is the oval, surely it's got to be the widest of all league grounds?
