On the radio the other day they were saying both China and Taiwan want in on the TPP. China apparently wants in before Taiwan as admittance depends on ALL members agreeing to new member nations. China would never agree to Taiwan being admitted as they believe it is a rogue Chinese province and the loss of face would be catastrophic in their eyes.

I dont think that's correct. Turnbull was the PM at the time wasn't he? Abbott wanted to give the contract to the Japanese
