Fun fact, back in 1995 my girlfriend and I lived in the house that they used in the Snowtown movie.

Hey? Not that I've ever been in the position but if you walk into a police station to report murder(s) and you're scared I'm not sure you just stroll out and get in an Uber.Lightning McQueen wrote:Absolutely, but he was living in absolute fear and he wasn't smart, he would've been killed the moment he walked out of the cop shop.Booney wrote:Herein lies the question, can someone who killed 4 people, dismembered them and help place the pieces in drums of acid ever be rehabilitated?Brodlach wrote:It’s a tough one, I’m certainly an “eye for an eye” type person but we don’t have that.
Has he been rehabilitated? Who really knows

Lopping that first one up you'd have to think something here isn't right.

I'm not defending him in any shape or form, they killed a friend of mine and it was happening around the corner from where I lived at the time, Blackham Crescent and Moulds crescent were where two of them gruesome events occurred.
Bunting made him assist knowing that he couldn't dob them in as he would be in just as much trouble, he had a strong hold over Vlassakis, he had no hope either way, I don't think he had any gain over the murders unlike the main two. Bunting and Wagner just gave no f***'s.

Did a crime, has served his mandated minimum time, has been deemed suitable for release by folks who ought to be knowledgeable in the matter. If he's capable of a productive existence on the outside then good luck to him.Booney wrote:What do we all think about James Vlassakis being granted parole after 26 years? If he commits a crime after release then those that released him should serve time too.
Then we will really find out how prepared they are to release him

Extreme would be asking why taxpayers pay to house those who get life without parole?
If their offending was so bad society determined they should never be released, why do we pay for them to die slowly.
Speed the process up and save everyone the money.

I am all for capital punishment on open and shut cases. I am also all for life without parole, but not the way they get it now with the comforts they are afforded.Trader wrote:Extreme would be asking why taxpayers pay to house those who get life without parole?

If I was in his shoes, I'd be having a video night. I'd be itching to see how I was portrayed in Snowtown.

At a guess, him and his new name would try and seek work in a country town somewhere and live a loner life and hope no one ever connects the dots, I'd imagine he wouldn't want to go anywhere near where any of the events occured, unlike the others, he was remorseful.
