With the price of fuel, why doesn’t the government cut the excise to reduce the price.
The amount of extra excise/tax they would be making ATM would be insane
Helps to pay for all the government spending I guess

That’s why I said excise/tax
From 2 weeks ago fuel has jumped at least $1 a litre so an extra 10cents per litre going straight into government coffers

Yep, good point, most people forget about the gst on fuel.
Yesterday I filled up for the first time after the price has gone bonkers, $1.01 per litre more than last time, and then it went up another 10c a few hours later.
The missus, on the other hand, drives a diesel …

We average 150 million litres of fuel a day
Equates to about $15 million a day extra
