Just seems interest in this comp is dwindling each year.

It’s a struggle to get senior coaches, only three blokes over 28 have made themselves available in the past two years.

Simon Tyler accounts for two of those himself.

There were glaring omissions in the selected squad too.

Where was Nik Seccafien? Josh Watson?

Know one thing, that is that Trainers are not interested in it much at all, different helping club level but there's no interest in Association level, Most trainers attend every training for a club since average mid January, There is no incentive to give up a free weekend to travel, attend trainings or anything (Not even a T-Shirt) and Saturday to cop attitude and disrespect towards trainers from some SC-really why do it?? Costs to clubs for strapping/travel/Give up a free weekend outweighs doing it, Not sure what incentive there is for players but interest does seem to be disappearing, Scrap the over age rule in favour of how many association games you have played-Play 4 yrs you have a say.

Dale King was the only one in the initial squad but not certain he would have been selected or not. Certainly played well for the Sharks though.

Apparently he told the league he had to work on the weekend.
Ive since heard he has been suspended for not being available.
Fair enough too. If he did have work he may have got away with it, but going down to lincoln to play is just taking the piss.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Jordan Clements in the same boat, played APFL but probably would have played for the Sharks if he wasn’t selected.

King is week on, week off anyway so suspension probably won’t affect Mallala, not sure if he plays back in Far North comp too.

Stephen Bayliss in the Mallala A grade for the first time since 2016. Not too many missing from United's best line-up.
Hard to pinpoint the Mallala outs but include Jarred Seal, Josh Watson, Dan Feeley and Sam Angus.

Gameau still out for Two Wells but other than him and Lee Henderson, Two Wells looks like a pretty strong side on paper, while Virginia will go in without Steven Peter or Anthony Bascombe named at the moment, meaning the Rams could need to find another ruck option, maybe Ben Farrugia.

HWE will go in without Justin Cicolella, Luke Powell and Adam Pengilly, who rucked well against Mallala but Josh Kelly, Sam Carslake and Ryan White come into the side. Josh Appleby and Curtis Jelbert were late withdrawals in round seven and will also resume for the Eagles. Ben Heaslip, Mitchel Gaze, Tom Would and Mitchell Daniel all come back into the Balaklava side that defeated Angle Vale.

Out for Angle Vale is Jamie Copperstone, Kieren Amos, Nathan Hunter, Isiah Glancey and Blake O'Halloran (thought O'Halloran went alright against Balak) and coming in is Ed Campbell, Scott Burgess, Luke Oxley, Grady Dutschke and Darian Ryles.
The Bombers may find it tough again, with Connor Darwin, Henry Basedow, Josh Watson, Matt Busch all not named, while in a boost, Sam McCabe is named. He's been handy at A grade level this year.

To their defence they had a swag of players out on Saturday, with no depth they sort of can't really afford it.

Their enthusiasm and effort out on the field can't be knocked, they give it a go but lack the cattle compared to the rest of the teams, they wont be folding any time soon, they still have a good morale out there and some great young lads coming through.

As for Angle Vale, they are on the up, it wont be long before they get one of the big scalps, since joining the APFL they've only beaten Hamley but the gap is closing, could be an interesting one this week.

Agree Angle Vale will be up for it against the Rams
Only problem being Big Nik and Bascombe would be hungry they haven't

I think Niklaus did his hamstring on the weekend against Two Wells..... wasn’t moving too well by what I could see and took himself off in the last qrt.

Which APFL clubs will benefit from the Salisbury North fiasco?

Virginia could potentially pick up three former players in Hay, Robertson and Ross.

Two Wells or Angle Vale in the frame at all? The Roosters have points to spare and I think United should also have some free as well.

HWE might have room for one player, Balaklava the same.

Not sure where Mallala or Hamley Bridge sit.

Hay is off the Barossa League.
