Good to see you're doing your reference checks ahead of me coaching CLG in 2023.

Re: 2022 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Ladder after Round 10
18 - Trinity OS
14 - Marion
12 - West Croydon
09 - Central United
08 - Brahma Lodge
-------------------------------
07 - Rosewater
06 - Fitzroy
04 - Ingle Farm
02 - Para Hills
Round 11
Brahma Lodge v West Croydon
Central United v Ingle Farm
Fitzroy v Marion
Trinity OS v Rosewater
Para Hill - bye
Well here we go, in the blink of an eye we are down to the final two months of the season, and for most teams just the 7 matches left to achieve their goals. Top 3 sides are pretty well locked for finals, and hard to see the order changing at all either.
Plenty of action through the middle of the table though, the Anzac Day draw may prove pivotal for both Central United and Rosewater - giving one a step up for finals hopes, the other a half game break extra on the relegation zone.
Units, Brahma, Rosewater all appear to be fighting for two spots.. maybe the draw will be what sinks Brahma? Fitzroy would fancy themselves a late season surge if they can keep their kids on the park, but percentage is suffering and would need to grab a couple of big scalps.
Towards the bottom, Para Hills will resume in Rd 12 with 6 matches to come, requiring to win 3 of them at an absolute minimum to give themselves any chance of getting away from the bottom 2 spots. Big ask. Smart money has Ingle Farm and Fitzroy fighting for 7th place, the Roys with the advantage after beating Ingle Farm before the break, and following a thrashing Saturday the percentage has taken a blow for the Farmers
This week I'd expect West Croydon to reverse the result of Rd 2 this year, Units should account for Farmers and Trinity favorites over Rosewater. Match of the round for me is Fitzroy v Marion though - whilst on paper you'd say Marion look the stronger side, can't help but feel the smaller and unique (nice word for shit) nature of the Fitzroy ground may prove to be a leveler. The Rams may struggle for space and freedom to get their running game going, and an upset wouldn't be out of the question.
In the B grade, everyone is wasting their time - Trinity wins the flag by 10 goals, probably play Units in the GF.. the rest are miles off the pace.

Marion: Bye
Sands of the hourglass have almost expired and finals will be upon us before we realise. Most sides have 6 matches remaining - only Rosewater and Para Hills with the extra following their bye rounds. Trinity OS are 12 points (6 wins) clear of 5th place - they can not be dislodged from the 5, and it's hard to see either Marion or West Croydon losing their spots.
The bottom two is set, Para Hills and Ingle Farm will finish 8th and 9th - whilst Fitzroy are only a game ahead of the Farmers, I cant help but feel they'll be the big improvers over the back straight, and fully expect them to push for the 5th position. This weekends match against Brahma Lodge shapes as a beauty.
Central United were clinical Saturday in the second quarter in particular, dangerous forward combination, but if they're to be a genuine contender then they needed to do more than a 10 goal win against the lowly ranked Bulldogs. Travelling out to Rosewater this week will test them a little more and could prove a danger game.
Longer the season goes on, the more I fancy a Trinity v Marion GF. Come finals, on big, dry grounds both these sides will be too quick and fit for other contenders. Fitzroy the dark horse.

Tough day at the office for para hills that's for sure. Not very often you see an A grade side not score a goal at all

Re: 2022 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6
Little late due to work, but shout out to West Croydon for making Saturday a really enjoyable and successful day - both Men's sides plus the Women's under lights - was great to see so many people stick around for a beer and watch the ladies as well.
As a club, we definitely underestimated the eating and drinking capacity of the Hawks faithful - don't think the canteen has been that busy in a looooong time!
Good games of footy (all three), B grade was a bit of a see-saw in the first half, but the leg speed around the ground, and class of Villa was the difference in the end. A grade was a little disappointing particularly the final margin, felt like Ingle Farm controlled majority of the 1st half, just unable to capitilise - and with West Croydon also poor in front of goals we were gifted a great chance to put them to the sword but couldn't.
They can score quickly when they're on the Hawks that's for sure, and they showed that kicking 5 goals in the space of about 10min in the 2nd quarter to take a match defining lead into the main break.
Women I didn't see a lot, but glanced up to see Hawks 3 goals up, next minute the Ingle Farm women were up by that margin!

We did kick a goal and it was not called.
Really hurt us as I thought that we were on a roll at that point. Could have changed the game if they called it.
Wasn't to be.
We stand behind the coaches, its been a tough year with a lot of injuries and people unavailable. The playing group is committed to see this year out and look to be very competitive next year. At the end of every year there will be a review of coaching staff and players as always, but for now and until the end of the season, the playing group stands by the coaches. On the weekend, the team we played against, you could have had Kevin Sheedy coach us. We still were not getting 200 points close to that side.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.
