Re: Adelaide Plains Football League
Big day at Virginia today for Anzac round.
The VFNC have created a connection with the Elizabeth RSL and will be bringing in a bus load of diggers to help us celebrate Anzac day. A full day of matches and also includes the pre game ceremonies and an Anzac medal for best a field.
The club with the RSL have designed special guernseys for the day and are grateful to have the opportunity to connect our community with such a special day.
At all home games the Virginia Football club now hosts the opposition committee to a half time afternoon lunch/tea and we look forward to sharing ideas and having a drink and some finger food (waitressed by my beautiful daughters
) Last week the United committee didn't want top go back out at the start of the third quarter such was the spread and positive conversations and relationships we were able to build.
We invite all locals, fans, friends, sponsors and stakeholders of the APFL to the Oval today to enjoy the matches and the ceremonies Full details are available on our Facebook page. Hopefully the link below works but if not....Virginia Football and Netball Club.

Super important match this week for the bottom 2 sides then, but at face value the ladder looks set.

Re: Adelaide Plains Football League
Two Wells won by 53 points vs Balaklava
HW Eagles won by 77 points vs United
Mallala won by 41 points vs Angle Vale
Hamley Bridge won by 57 points vs Virginia
Rams now the only team without a win - and play 3 of the top 4 in the next month.
Two Wells remain the only undefeated team, with HW and AV hot on their heels, Mallala in that group with a slightly poorer percentage.
Question for the uneducated on this comp.. if United and Virginia finish bottom 2 - do they get more player points again next season?

Yeah most country comps use a floating system with the minimum any team can have being 6. Not sure what the maximum is.The Bedge wrote:Two Wells won by 53 points vs Balaklava

The APPS in this league is calculated by regular season win % over 3-4 years. Can't remember which. The Bedge wrote:Two Wells won by 53 points vs Balaklava

Maximum points of 15.
-1 for every under 18 player up to a maximum of -2.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Virginia and United have 18?OnSong wrote:Maximum points of 15. .
So they'll stay at 18 even if they lose every game this year (hypothetically speaking)?

Re: Adelaide Plains Football League
I think in special circumstances you can apply for an extra 3. And both these clubs have grounds to apply for the extra points given recent track records. The Bedge wrote:Virginia and United have 18?OnSong wrote:Maximum points of 15. .

I wrote a reply on here earlier - some people saw it before I deleted it. Just want to stress I have no interest in coaching, it was said as a joke just being cheeky in the moment and in no way did I know anything about what was to transpire tonight, or have any influence or awareness of it.

Virginia coached sacked? (mutually agreed to part ways?) A lot of preseason hype for no return at the momentThe Bedge wrote:I wrote a reply on here earlier - some people saw it before I deleted it. Over the last two seasons we have had two players come to our club that needed a clearance from Virginia. Lets just say on both occasions obtaining the clearances was an absolute nightmare versus any other clubs we have had to deal with including clubs in our own league.
Lots of work to be done at that footy club me thinks.
