ridiculous batting on this long, probably a direction from the cricket board so they dont make too much of a loss :D

It's called being ruthless, I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot South Africa would do exactly the same (or any other team for that matter) but hey use Australia's dominance as an excuse to slag off Healy.

You win the toss you bat, and in general get the best conditions to play with over the duration
Surely you bat first in the expected 40 + degree heat

Great decision to put SA into bat and see the Kappitulation !

Still not a bad decision to bowl first when you roll the opposition for 76 though is it? Teams clearly don't have to bat first if they don't see it as the right option and obviously the Aussies didn't care about how hot it was.

Good batting practice in my opinion. Given that they aren't going to play another test for a while, why not? You're not going to get centre wicket practice any time soon. It's not like batting on will cost them the test.
