Re: Collingwood 2016/17
I thought Buckleys response was well put.
Harry/Heratio or whatever his new name is does deserve a nickname like Chip.
He would have been well payed for 10 years with us and looked after to the highest degree.
Talk about biting the hand that fed ya!

Heretier has a record of speaking out when he feels he/someone else has been wronged. Why did it take him so long to complain about a nickname he was unhappy with? It just doesn't seem to fit with his character.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Oh good, another 2 years of "So, you think you're the man for the job?"
They've gone under him :
16W 6L
14W 8L
11W 11L
10W 12L
9W 13L
9W 1D 12L
Maybe it was the fact they improved under him this year that he got the extension?

Re: Collingwood 2016/17
Nathan Buckley will continue his legacy at the Pies until at least the end of 2019 after the club announced it will extend his tenure as senior coach.
The Collingwood Board and Buckley signed off on the two year extension following the club’s round 23 win over Melbourne.
Buckley, who has coached the side to two finals campaigns, said the next two seasons present an exciting opportunity for the list.
“The last few years have shown how tough this competition is and we have not bounced as quickly as we had planned. In that time the resilience and commitment of the players and staff hasn't wavered. In particular we are blessed with a core group of emerging leaders who will drive our prospects in coming years," Buckley said.
"We do not own the right to success, so we will chase it with all we have. Reinforcing the things we do well and continually challenging each other to find better ways. Above all, we will value and support each of our people as we go about our business."
"We still have a lot of work to do and I'm up for that challenge."
Following his playing career, Buckley returned to the club as an assistant coach in 2010 before taking on the senior coaching role in 2012. This followed coaching stints with the AIS Academy and Vic Country.
During his six years at the helm of the Magpies, Buckley has recorded 70 wins from 136 matches resulting in a winning percentage of 51.5%.
President Eddie McGuire said Buckley personifies the traits the club values in its senior coach.
“We have seen the way this list plays for Nathan. He is a man of the highest integrity, he has compassion for his players on and off the field, he is uncompromising in his commitment to the role and we believe he is taking this group in the right direction,” McGuire said.
“As a club we instigated a list rebuild following our 2013 campaign and Nathan has been exemplary in his commitment to developing the young talent brought on to our list and creating a team-first ethos that we believe will take us back to where we want to be as a club.
“The club has taken the One Collingwood blueprint process very seriously and the Board took time to consider all the information presented at our meeting on Tuesday night. With the benefit of that in-depth report we, as a Board, believe Nathan is the right person to lead this club forward.”

Re: Collingwood 2016/17
They just aren't good enough, so perhaps what he did with what he had was in fact a pass mark?
All the talk at the start of the year about Champion Data rating them the best midfield seduced many into thinking that meant they were top 8 material when another look at them would have shown they are very short of key forwards and would struggle to kick winning scores.
Now they better get cracking a find him someone to kick the ball to and make Moore's life a little easier.

They've had 6 years to get better and are still shit. How can that be a pass mark?

I'm trying to think like the board, why they reappointed him, maybe they know the list is rubbish and think what he did with them this year was enough?

Mayne and Wells are taking over 10% of their Salary cap and netted 13 games between them in 2017, they have another 2 years of this.
