They need to play them before the U/19's carnival I suppose (in a couple of weeks) but makes no sense to play in the dark. Should play them on a Sunday. 19's can play against two grade clubs in an afternoon

Looks like all the state blokes are playing tomorrow. That's good - can't lose outright by an innings then put the feet up for a breather. It's only a one dayer too. It's amazing how strong all the teams look with just 1-2 extra quality players.

Given the current performances of the Shield side they should be getting all the match practice available to them...

Just imagine how strong it will look with a reduction of grade clubs and more concentration of top end players.. :D 8)

the top end players willl be the same blokes who are our top end players now. They get to play the best players around australia every week and that is not improving them.. how is playing a slightly better grade bowler gonna make the difference?

Patrick Page got a ton for the 19's today against NSW. Head, Smith, Lehmann, Page... can we get four home grown left handers in there?!

Got big wraps on him obviously. Supposedly got sledged by Matthew Weeks in a grade game when he came out to bat - "I'll vomit on you if I hear anyone else talk about how good you are"

Speaking of highly rated junior cricketers - what about the NSW bloke Jason Sangha - dominated 15's earlier in the year, picked in the CA XI for the 17's - dominated that, now part of the CA XI for the 19's and tonned up yesterday

Was rather intimidating strolling in the changerooms for training last night to only be confronted by Ryan Harris standing in the doorway.....my first thought you've probably never spent this much time in the home rooms Rhino ;)

Great to see Prossies up and running.
A few good kids in their 1s plus a few recruits and Miller chipping in has really helped.

Massive sigh of relief at Glandore Saturday......however, still concerning that The Buffalos dug themselves a hole and left it up to a 29 year old debutant to get the wheels in motion for Cam Valente to finish the job.

He has an exclusive contract with Hahn Super Dry these days ;)

Hilarious watching bowlers sledging him and he just stood there, possibly laughing under the helmet!

I could only imagine. Was his inclusion at the expense of payney?

Seems SACA have decided it is down to three Clubs who will not be part of the 1st Grade comp next year, basically this will kill of the Club if they only have a 2nd Grade team.

Believe it is out of West Torrens, Port and Woodville. SACA still pushing for a merger between two of these clubs. So looks like Adelaide, Uni and Prospect are safe.

Reason being given is too many Clubs in Western area.

WT shattered by this. As a Club you do all the right things, meet all the criteria like teams in all competitions (Mens/Womens), good Juniors, etc and only reason getting punished is location of Club!

From a West Torrens point of view you are the strongest out of those 3. Decent junior program and decent numbers in the seniors. The other 2 juniors struggle for numbers and have issues with numbers from time to time in the lower senior mens competition.

Typical SACA thinking selecting 3 clubs to thrash out a merger, yet the club that contributes the least to junior development gets off....

Don't think that's correct - they are happy to run with 12 teams in 1st Grade. Recommendation by Zadow report said should be 10 teams, but they will stick with 12.

Keith Bradshaw has overridden the Zadow report with his own recommendation.....which is 12.

How true. common sense says it should be Uni gone, and their players get shared around. They have no juniors so makes perfect sense.

Unfortunately they have many powerful people at that club (lots of Lawyers and Barristers) and SACA wont take them on!

WT are being penalized for our location, we are turning players away to Community clubs in our area, for both Seniors and Juniors.

Yes it certainly helps when you have the director of public prosecution drafting your clubs correspondence.

If WT were forced to merge that would be a complete crock IMO. They meet all the requisite markers that SACA uses to guide the success of a grade club and put on a great spread for afternoon tea. On the other hand, and i say this firmly with tongue in cheek... it would be nice to see the back of them
