Monsoon season! Bit of a shame as I think all Redbacks players are meant to be in action tomorrow, for the last time this season.

Wish SACA would just make the call now, make all games a one day game next week.

The same thing happened last year, and one match got started and played about 30 overs (at Glandore), then the following week all games had to be played still as two day games under SACA rules, meaning unless teams have pre arranged deals, results are unlikely.

Save driving all the way out to TTG tomorrow for nothing also!!

Coincidentally it was also against this week's matchups......Adelaide v Northerns and Prospect v Glenelg got away last year. Only difference was it was a Sat/Sun fixture!

Looks like only 3 games got away yesterday. Does that mean the other 3 games are played under two day rules next week? Do they get to extend overs?

Those that didn't get a ball bowled are 112 overs for the day (Essentially 55 overs per side with 2 for change of innings).

Seems the Karma bus backed up over the 2 games that got away in a rain affected round last year, ND V Adealaide and Glenelg v Prospect. Not a ball bowled in either matchup.

50's?

Unless it's an ex-State cricketer running around surely the grade club would be better off pushing that bloke out and promoting a kid, even if it's an U/16. As said, the old stager could provide off field support for a young captain which would be valuable.

Definitely 50s and not an ex state cricketer that I'm aware of. There is 18 year old lads being left out

Only one game separating 2nd and 8th.

1. 160 points - Tea Tree Gully
2. 120 points - Northern Districts
3. 115 points - Woodville (bye to come)
4. 105 points - Sturt

5. 105 points - Kensington
6. 100 points - Glenelg
7. 100 points - Prospect
8. 100 points - University
9. 90 points - East Torrens
10. 85 points - Southern District

Still ten teams in it I reckon. Mathematically at least. A few decisive games this weekend.

Prospect need to topple TTG.
Southerns must beat West Torrens
Glenelg must beat Adelaide
Uni must beat Northern Jets

Plus a couple of games between contenders:
East Torrens vs Kensington
Sturt vs Woodville

Apart from TTG it's still difficult to pick a final four. The bye makes Woodville's loss to East Torrens yesterday a big deal.

Sounds like ball tampering has raised its head from one of the games last round....

Did I hear correctly on the weekend that a Woodville/West Torrens merger is the most likely scenario now?

Yes. That is the rumour. West Torrens are in the weakest overall position off field out of the 3.

Not much was revealed at the latest GC committee meeting regarding this issue.

West Torrens are in a much more sound financial position than several other clubs actually, including one of the two other clubs being looked at. Additionally, they are one of the two longest surviving clubs and provide more teams in SACA competitions than any other club.

Don't Henley Football club want them out too? Where would they go if that happened?

My mail pointed to a merger between the two I mentioned earlier with Woodville Oval being the home base.

Is that fact or is it "as many"?
I'm not trying to di-sect your statement or rubbish your club as I was quite dumbfounded to hear the news that I did over the weekend.

I would've thought there'd be a few clubs in the firing line before West Torrens.

Probably all of them. ET are well known for getting the ball to reverse swing 30 overs before any other side in the competition can do it.

ET were accused of ball tampering during the week.. so the umpires replaced the ball start of the day - gave them a different brand (regulator maybe?) and it just hooped wildly as a result lol..

Still would have been a Kookaburra... and should have been the First Class standard ball that SACA supply anyway.

Heard few stories from this game, sounds like these two teams don't get on at all!

Apparently Cramner last week refused to play, was threatening the umpires that he was going to sue SACA, etc. Don't know why, wet run ups or pitch no doubt.

Can just see Woodville complaining about the ball to the umpires too, would have been funny stuff!

Had two of the most senior umps in that game too.

East Torrens really are the worse team to play against, every week there is a different story, and it cant be a coincidence when 12 teams all agree! Get rid of the keeper for a start, followed closely by captain, and opening bowler next, then they may be good bunch of blokes!
