Re: SANFL Club Finances
Don't Sturt have a different method of appointing Board members? My recollection is that the members have very little say in who's on the Board.

I'll have to apologise to Dedja here. This atrocious result puts paid to my notion that the Bays would massage their figures in an attempt to put a positive spin on the entry of the two AFL reserves teams.

No, Topsy. There are four Board members who are elected by the membership. These are two year terms, but, they are staggered terms, much like the Senate elections. Two of these elected positions are renewed every year and nominations are called for prior to the AGM. A further Board position comes from the Vice Presidents group. Other Board positions are co-opted onto the Board depending on the expertise needed. e.g, Football, Finance, Junior Football and Marketing & Fundraising. As with most SANFL clubs there is always a lack of nominations from the membership, so, the incumbent member elected members have pretty much just rolled over for the last decade. Hope that clears it up for you.

Re: SANFL Club Finances
Hearing that the premiers have had to cut staff from their senior coaching group in order to cut expenditure. Geez if the 3 x premiers are going rough financially the whole comp might be in trouble.

Not the only club cutting coaching staff, either.

Excellent result by Sturt. A much needed piece of good news from a SANFL club.

Clearly the NAFC posting a $315k profit is not good news?

Far from going rough financially.
Reckon we are in a pretty good position, you can always make cuts though, perhaps the club though some money was been wasted.

I wish my mob would waste some money and win one premiership let alone three.

Re: SANFL Club Finances
Come on RIG North spends plenty on on and off field support except you can't spend on the one thing we need no matter how much $$$ you have - can't buy a winning non mediocre culture - we are stuck with middle of the road results given it has littered our path for more than 100 years!

Re: SANFL Club Finances
Sorry mate that I didnt post about the North profit. Good news as well. Well done to North as well. It is good to see SANFL clubs doing well considering its a very slow economy at the moment.

So they're not going to have a Runner or Reserves Coach???
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Great! I can hear it now at the AGM this year. WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE 2 AFL TEAMS, WE ARE PROUD TO SAY THE CLUB HAS MADE A SIGNIFICANT PROFIT ON PREVIOUS YEARS. All hail Sir Bodan jawhisky
