Not sure why people are talking up zampas year. He has taken 7/323 at an average of 46.14.

Hardly good enough for a bowler! His batting has been very handy though

Despite the lack of wickets, don't think his bowling has been that bad.. plus not easy to be a spinner on Adel Oval.

I think he's been serviceable so far, and a perfect change up to compliment our quicks.

Personally I'd rather Trav Head stop bowling the overs he is until he's worked bit harder at it - isn't dangerous and leaks runs with relative ease.

Head averages 40.80 by be reckoning. Goes at 3.77 compared to Zampa's 3.67. Tell me again why Head should stop bowling?

Just looked at the figures - with the exception of a couple innings it doesn't look too bad. I didn't realise it was that tidy - I was judging off what I had seen during the SS games.

Although looking at the stats, no bowler is really doing an exceptional job except perhaps Mennie.

If he wins the toss he does.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

What changes should be made for the next game in Tassie?

Think Richo will replace Benton, our four bowlers have all done pretty well.

So to me, Smith and Cooper the two in the gun. Raphael and Lehmann the two potential replacements, but neither of them has been churning out the runs to demand a spot. Interesting selections coming up!

I heard that Richardson has a tear in his quad and may not play the next game either which would be a shame. Putland nowhere and more likely for the Big Bash than any of the next two Shield games. Benton might get an extended run at it.

I was surprised Jake Lehmann didn't start in the Shield competition this season. Thought he was quite promising at the end of last season. Surely he will come in for the next game?

Zampas whole career is on promise, his stats have been ordinary! His batting is real handy as a number 8. His bowling shouldn't see him in the side. He leaks too many runs and does not take enough wickets. Simple. No bowler compliments your quicks if they don't take wickets. sayers works his butt off every innings goes at 2 an over most games to then have Zampa go at nearly 4 an over and not get wickets. The Redbacks shield side is so mediocre it is not funny. And Tim Ludeman, don't get me started on him.

We should target a couple players next year. A keeper, another quick and a bat!
Bat - Kurtis Patterson/Ryan Carters as examples (they don't get picked when Aussie players back). Our batting is a joke!
Bowlers - Sandhu, Bollinger. There's plenty on the fringes that surely are worth a good question. Bollingers experience would be extremely beneficial although he doesn't have much time left. That's only the NSW side I have looked at!

Is Alex Carey a chance to come in as keeper in the next Shield game?

I like Ludeman's keeping but his batting has fallen away this season. Only one good innings in the one day competition and has missed out in the three Shield game.

I would hope not, but don't know who else it could be. Maybe Cooper. Should be Ludeman

I'm only basing it on Carey Opening for the Bays and Ludeman being safe.....

Raphael run himself out on the weekend for a low score so he is unlikely.

Selections will be very interesting.

Will Siddons show faith in the guys he has been selecting, or make wholesale changes??

I think he may give them all one more chance, but who knows!

Confirmed that Kelvin Smith has been dropped.

Only other change to 12 is Worrall back in for Opie, assume Benton be 12th man now.

So who opens batting now?? Has to be Travis Head. Considering he is not really an opener, shows a bit of desperation.

Assume Lehmann to bat at No.5 then.

Few guys really need to step up this weekend or could be vastly different looking team for the following week!

Would be rare to drop an opener without the bloke coming in taking that spot.

Can't see it being a long term solution moving Ferguson, Cooper or Head unless they were going to be dropped otherwise. Maybe Ross is moving up after showing a bit. Where does he usually bat in grade cricket?
