Can any Bloods supporters shed any light on Newell as a player?

Really? Where'd you hear that?
Booney wrote:Glenelg’s collection of former Port Magpies has increased by two with the addition of promising midfielders Ben Sawford and Jack Haarsma.
Seeking greater opportunity at League level after displaying encouraging signs throughout season 2015, Sawford and Haarsma will add valuable depth to the Bays’ midfield rotation.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, Glenelg coach Matt Lokan said the pair impressed him in the club’s nail-biting loss to the Magpies in Round 17 this year.
On that night, Haarsma booted the winning goal while collecting 19 disposals as Sawford racked up 40 possessions, 14 clearances, nine inside 50s and four goals.
They join Lokan, Terry Milera, Jake Johansen, Ben Nason and fellow recruit Luke Harder in starting their career at Alberton before heading to Brighton Road.
Lokan also confirmed the signings of country football stars Jack Kenny (midfield) and Matt Merrett (half-back) who will seek to kick-start their SANFL careers at Tigerland.
Pre-season training is set to begin with a gruelling time-trial on Saturday, with only a handful of Tigers restricted by injury.
Long-term knee victims Lonnie Hampton and Tim Sullivan are still recovering from conventional reconstructions while Hayden Jolly has undergone minor surgery on his ankle.
Former Carlton utility Pat McCarthy will be eased back into training as he continues to manage ongoing groin soreness.

I doubt that will happen, he would have been told before heading to Gunelg.
