I was agreeing with you, my post wasn't that clear
People who count up the 'AFL flags' aren't saying that the others don't count, they are just drawing a convenient line between when the 'modern' era starts.

Pretty simple

Using that logic PAFC simply went from the SANFL to the AFL in 1997, when we know that the Port Power was created in 1997 and the PAFC stayed in the SANFL
Sorry totally new league in 1990.
Pretty Simple really.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
We are now into the post-modern AFL era, which began in 2012 with the introduction of the 18th team. All records heretoforth are to be expunged from your memories.

The AFL is nothing more than a rebranded VFL
If the SANFL at the end of the year decided to drop the 'N' and become the SAFL, therefore changing all their merchandise, marketing etc to fit would the 100 years of history before hand be dropped
Actually the bay's premiership tally would be fairly similar

Ahhh, some Post-modern Realism, with an existential crisis thrown in for good measure....

Quite the opposite, the logic dictates the PAFC changed their name to the PAMFC in 1996 , a club that has since become defunct. The new entity took someone else's name and have no right to claim on the history of the original PAFC which has since become defunct. Extremely simple.

False, the AFL was a name change only. The comittee members were the same and all financials were kept the same. It wasnt like the A-League which started fresh

That's just a stupid comment. From where we were having over 50, 000 members needs due recognition.
On field is and always will be the ultimate measure.
My god, haven't you had enough recognition already? It's all we've heard about all season, "our crowds are greater, our membership's better than yours", waa waa waa. If it makes you feel better then good on you, but surely enough self back patting is enough. What IS stupid (and pathetic) is when a club downplays having less members yet highlights on field performance but is quite happy to do the opposite the following year when the situation changes & it suits them.

Blah blah blah. sick of this shit. Did Port decide to sell more 3-game memberships rather than commit one seat to one person for 11 games? yes. Did it most likely create more members in 2015? Yes. Does it affect the Crows bottom line? No Move on.

Excellent, if you could forward a copy of your book on how to run an AFL club I'll be sure to pass it on to the relevant people.
