Longwood Lions v Delicious REBCats v Has Been Mediocre at Best v Honey Badgers Ecky's Fevolas v Ben Rolfsburgers - Match of the Round Inner Sanctum v Poon Illuminati Hondo SCC v Captain Who? Chicken Twisties v TEAM_FISH Q Before You v Richo Richo Man Sharks v Buddy Franklin
A massive round of Premier League action kicks off tonight with the league leaders Benny Rolfs facing a strong challenge from Ecky’s Fevolas in the match of the round. Ecky has been going well so far this season but the Rolfs are a class above at the minute and I reckon they can see off the challenge of the Fevs this week.
Three sides that have a zip-three start have very tough fixtures this week and all could very well go Owen Four as a result. Longwood Lions have been disappointing scorers so far this season and I expect Valleys to clean up in that match. A read hot Poon should have no trouble accounting for Inner Sanctum who have yet to get their mojo going this season. Hondo should bounce back into the winners list against Captain Who, another side struggling to score consistently this year.
Chicken Twisties broke through for their first win last week but I can’t see them reeling in the FISH who are the genuine article this year. Last year’s finalists Honey Badgers and Has Been will both go in favourites in their matches and should go on to win. Q and Richo will be close but I’m tipping Q to bounce back with a win. The other match is the toughest to call with Sharks and Buddy not racking them up but one of them gets the win. I think Sharks in a close one there.
Felt like I was behind the Rebcats all weekend so decided to swing Petrechelle onto the field today rather than take Parker’s score. Cost me 22 points. Final score 2168 v 2146, 22 points! Well played Reb!

Cheers mate. You're a big scalp for me. I did a double downgrade which worked and I did my research on Gawn which paid off. I was surprised but happy when you made the petrechelle move as I figured he wouldn't do much at Cat Park.
Benny's flying start to the season continued this week at the expense of the Fevs as the Rolfs had a comfortable win in the match of the round that punted Ecky outside of the top eight. Q was lamenting his rookies but to be fair his side copped the performance of the round in the form of Richo Richo man. The 2017 premier can be an awkward opponent and he certainly proved so this week with a hefty 2266 in a week where 2163 would get the job done more often than not. Q a bit stiff there.
Meanwhile the Ippy lads REB and Hambone have turned back the clock to 2007 with both foundation sides sitting in the top four. While I am scrambling like usual, Hammo has been one step ahead with some of his moves and as a result of some aggressive trading he is in the top ten scorers in the Hogg and unbeaten in the Premier League after four. The Cats had one of their better efforts of recent years to defeat Has Been who are always tough to beat. Hondo is another tough team to beat and once again they have started well. Hondo is the best side to never win the Premier League and he must be kicking himself after dominating all year a few seasons back and doing a Chris Scott in the finals.
One of the worst feelings in SuperCoach is to have the runs on the board only for the win to be taken off you after scaling. That was the unfortunate fate that befell Delicious and what an important win it was for the previously winless Lions. Zip four is not the way you want to start your Premier League campaign and Alaska has dodged a massive bullet there.
Speaking of Zip four that is exactly where Inner Sanctum and the Captain find themselves after a month of head to head play. This situation is fairly new for Inner Sanctum, a side that generally gets the wins on the board but it's not happening for them yet this year. The Captain started reasonably slowly last year before coming home strongly but Owen Four is no friend to anyone. Time for a win you blokes.
The promoted sides Chicken Twisties and Mediocre at Best are batting at 50 percent so far which is well short of Mediocre's output in particular. There aren't any easy games up here lads so your 15-2 season probably won't be happening.....but you tell that to Benny Rolfs and Poon Iloom.

Benny Rolfs has been a bit of a steamroller this season and winning on the bit but this week he will face a tough challenge in the mighty Hondo SCC. I reckon Ben is due for a bit of a slip up here and Hondo is just the sort of side that is capable of taking advantage. It's Hondo for me in the Premier League match of the round.
In the other games I'm backing Has Been to hit back against the Lucky Lions with Mediocre to edge the just as Unlucky Delicious out for a second straight week. The REBCats should get the job done against Ecky and the Badgers are my tip against winless Inner Sanctum who must be wondering where all the points went this season. I can't have the Sharks agaisnt FISH who look a top eight combination and my big selection for the week is for Chicken Twisties to provide the twist this week and end Pooney's winning run.
Two teams that are a bit up in down in Richo and Buddy face each other but I'm a bit suss on the teams that score well when the popular players don't so for this reason I reckon Buddy will get the chocolates here. In the other game the Captain may well go down with the ship this season, especially after they drop to 0-5 after a loss to Q.
The match of the round came right down to the wire as unbeaten Ben Rolfsburgers held on to defeat top four rival Hondo SCC by a solitary point. There must have been some sphincter tightening going on around scaling time in that one but it's all systems go now for Benny who have now beaten two top four sides already in his five match unbeaten streak. The other close one was Richo Richo versus Buddy Franklin with Richo saluting by a mere eight points to snaffle the win and move into the top eight. No such luck for Buddy though who are like the old chicks at the nightclub...sorry Budster you can't come in....better hit the KFC dude!
Poon remained unbeaten along with the Rolfs and I'm buggered if I know how he is doing but seeing as I am 4-1 perhaps this year is a soft one as far as Hogg Premier goes. We might have to get our wins in quick before guys like Inner Sanctum and Honey Badgers remember how to play this game. The Badgers in particular have had a spectacular fall in grace...this time last year the Badgers were top of the ladder and right now they are looking like a relegation fancy. Speaking of, Longwood Lions won their second straight win with an upset win over Has Been while the Captain took advantage of the wheels falling off the Q Bus. Perhaps this change of fortune is just what was required for the Captain to get his Groover back.
Finally on the board, was hoping to be 2-3 after the first 5 rounds with my setup but I’ll take being 1-4 and still only 1 game outside the 8. It should be quite the entertaining year!
So, after all my careful analysis and research etc I won last weeks game basically because Danger got injured, and lost the week before because Whitfield got injured. Why do we bother?
