Sounds a bit pricey for a root canal, which is not a huge job to undertake.
For comparison a ceramic tooth bolting to a Titanium implant cost me $2400 about 6 years ago with an Adelaide Prosthodontist.
My private health fund paid $600 of that.

I thought twice about that, but it was a front tooth.

either you got mates rates Psyber, or prices have skyrocketed (i suspect the latter). i just had my front tooth replaced with an implant (final appointment was only a month ago) and it was over double what you paid

i would have thought the above prices were in the ballpark

The bloody over-enthusiastic creature leapt up at me and hit me under the chin with its head, clashing my teeth together and cracking an upper incisor.
The incisor subsequently crumbled and kept having to be patched up and eventually totally replaced.
I've lost track of how many thousand dollars that added up to over the years.

(Briards are an rather insane breed - I eventually gave him to friends who bred Collies and just kept a series of more placid Wolfhounds thereafter.)
