However, with the recruits they have picked up so far and apparently a couple of others to add to the list, their team will have a totally different look to it than it has recently. Hard to make any predictions as to how they will go although they will certainly be a team to watch in 2010.
Is the rolfe quoted above the former Norwood player, if so he had some of the best hands i ever saw through juniors and into Reserves level. Has he played there since Norwood???

One and the same, and yes he still enjoys the odd hanger or two.

The best player in Div 3 IMO
IF those 3 were playing i would have old iggies as clear favorite but have heard from mates they wont be playing. but speaking to an iggies lad on the weekend they seem like they have a few coming back to the club. like joe duigun and such so will still be handy!

He signed with us last year. I know he has always been keen to play for us if things did not work out at SANFL level.
By the sounds of last night's decision, things wont be working out for a few more Port boys than just Wiles. They might be looking down the road for a new home Felch. Havens might benefit from it too, particularly with the U18's folding.
It will still be more beneficial for the local SAAFL clubs in the long term if the Magpies survive though. I havent always agreed with the way they have 'directed' players towards certain clubs, but i would still much rather have them exist than not.
Football at all levels on the Le Fevre Peninsula would certainly be worse off if Port Adelaide fold.

BTW - you could have woken me up when you guys left.......... I have 2 hours film of me sleeping
Somehow i missed u Jimbo......
Thought the smell of the after trainning BBQ and the crack of a West End Tinnie wouldve woken u up. You shouldve come over, im sure all the boys wouldve loved to seen you.

They wont fold. I rekon it was a scare tactic to convince clubs into passin the merger. A former player of ours just accepted the reserves asst coach position.
happened to drive past the oval of para hills last nite! they look sharp and a very fit unit! noticed a gun from div 1 S/NORTH! C Schapel will dominate this league and p/hills will win the flag by a mile!!!

Yes Schaps has signed for this season and has been out training with us since last year. He is fitting in nicely and along with Shane Goodwin and Ryan Rebbeck have been training exceptionally well. We have Terry Sleep return and obviously Craig Schapel come across and then gained a couple of other handy players, but at the same time have lost a couple important walk up starters from last seasons team. I think we will be in and around the mark to play finals footy, but most definately dont warrant premiership favourites.
