I deliberately ignore Maddinson.
Hopefully Wade keeps his spot at 6 after scoring a 100 in the last test match but like we saw with Burns and Pattinson a century in your most recent test match doesn't mean alot.
Pucovski doing all the right things so far and they should be looking at him you would think.
Head and Kahwaja are no chance at the moment.
Yeah, Maddinson could end up as one of the most wasted talents to play cricket in Australia, has wasted opportunities when presented and the gulf between his brilliance and form slumps is greater than any.
Agreed. I think the selectors did him a disservice picking him in the test side when they did. He clearly wasn't in good form.

What changes for our Shield game this Friday against NSW?

Obviously Carey will be replaced by Nielsen, he will probably bat 7 (Carey was 6).

That mean they pick another batter. and drop one of the bowlers, probably Valente?

Would Ferg come into three so Lehmann goes back to 6 after his pair?

Or they bring in a young batter like Bosisto and basically send Ferg the message that his Shield days are over??

Interesting selections!

At least we won't be coming up against a full strength NSW!

We need Ferg in there, and yes, push Lehmann down the order, our number 3 has to have had opening experience as he is practically an opener.

Snippets of article on Cameron Bancroft:

The right-hander says he's batting with a clear mind and isn't focused on national selection ahead of the first Domain Test against Pakistan in Brisbane next month.

"I think I've had a lot of distractions probably, obstacles that I've had to deal with in my career so far," he said on Monday.

"I spent a lot of time away from home which is challenging. I think the moment I touched down in Perth and got home, you tend to relax ... when I've gone out in the middle it's just been nice to concentrate on my processes.

"I feel like I'm playing really well. In the Shield I've got out a couple of strange ways so far this season ... (but) I'm hitting the ball quite nicely down the ground, which I think is a good sign for me.

"If I'm doing that, I think I'm setting myself up to make some runs."

Bancroft added that he wasn't concerned about his technique after being targeted on his pads and twice caught at leg gully in the Shield.

"If they want to keep bowling on my hip, no worries," he said.

"I'll get some opportunities to hit some other gaps that are presented in the field."

Dude, you're averaging 15 this summer.

Biggest question is do we go with 5 bowlers with Andrews as the allrounder? Or do we go with 4 bowlers?

I can understand them erring on the side of extra bowling options given that we've had quite a few injuries to bowlers lately but the balance looks much better with 6 genuine batters:

1. Hunt
2. Weatherald
3. Ferguson
4. Head (c)
5. Lehmann
6. Cooper
7. Nielsen (wk)
8. Andrews
9. Winter
10. Sayers
11. Agar

Robins 12th man

Lehmann and Weatherald would want to make some runs. Actually all of them would want to.

If Lehmann didn't score like he did on the weekend he'd be mixing the cordial, Andrews has been a shining light with the bat, it's a tough decision, I'd have him above Harry in your line up though, Head would have to come into play with the ball.

Vics rolled for 127 on a green top. Maddinson makes 69 runs batting at 5, next highest score 13.
He's coming with a bullet for a spot in the test team this summer.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

I dislike him but yes he's going well and is obviously in good form so worthy of a spot.

Queensland 268
Labuschage 87
Stoinis 4/50

At a guess I'd say CA instructed the Vics to bat him there.

Potentially they did.
He did bat middle order last year when he was smashing runs everywhere, people seemed to have forgotten that. Allows them to bring that Travis Dean spud in to open & chuck Maddo back in the middle order now Maxi is on International/Mental Break.
