I coulda sworn cola was one of the flavours in the Rocket ... maybe that was a special edition. Didn't they also come with funky plastic sticks that could interlock, so with every one eaten you got another strut for your Rocket Stick Construction Set (tm)?

Correct re: the sticks, re: the cols, that's what I also thought at first but then figured I'd got that confused with the Kiss iceblock.

I recall them being red, orange and yellow from top down. Then again, you old folks might be talking about the Rocket Ice Block circa pre-1970's.

Re: I need to know....
Anyone else hear about the SMA hitting the SACA with a fine for training on the AO without proper permission or booking the venue?

What did the Redbacks use the oval for? Couldn't have been fielding practice as the grass is too bloody long at present....

Re: I need to know....
What can a debit card that's linked to visa or mastercard to that one that's just linked to EFTPOS can't?

you can use it as a credit card. for online purchases etc. which you cant do with an eftpos card.
if you go to coles or something for your groceries, pressing the credit button on a debit card does exactly the same thing as an eftpos card.
a more important question is what a debit card cant do that a credit card can.
the biggest difference is when you need a credit card number as collateral. i.e when you check into a hotel. quite often they wont accept a debit card because it isnt guaranteed that you have money there.
there is basically no downside to getting a debit card over an eftpos card.

Generally in that case they ask if the debit card is able to be charged a certain amount (usually $250 or $500) then they will give you the balance on checking out in cash.

Re: I need to know....
yeah true. but having to fork out $500 sucks.
personally, i have a credit card, that has automatic payments set up so that the bill gets paid off in full at the end of the period. i find this works well. i think i have paid credit card interest once in 7 years, and i was pissed off haha

Re: I need to know....
Thanks Benny and Heater, that's what I was thinking. Signed up to a new account and the card I was given was an eftpos card, which is really annoying. Looks like I'll be closing that account a week after opening it!

Re: I need to know....
I'll try that first. Signed up with Rams as they have a really good interest rate on their online accounts and I can use the card for free at BankSA atms which is the bank I'm moving away from

Re: I need to know....
Ok. No idea whether those smaller providers offer it or whatever. The other option is to sign up for a credit card with like a 1k limit and use internet banking to never pay interest.
