I have, at home, a compact La San Marco coffee maker that was originally made as a promotional item for restaurant and coffee shop owners, and was acquired through a friend in the trade. My wife loved it, but she had worked in the trade when putting herself through university and loved cooking too.

However, since her death I've hardly used it. Most of the time when on my own at home I use Moccona freeze dried and a milk frothing device as it is quicker and easier to clean up after. Yes, there is a difference in flavour, but not enough to motivate me to use the machine. Then I'm not into cooking either, and my meals at home are also fairly simple because I have more interesting things to do than spend time on preparation.
