Pakistan 1/122
Masood 61*
Shafique 53*
That'll be nice haha.
Pakistan now 3/263, from 62.3. Masood out, caught and bowled out of the blue really. 151 (177), his first hundred since August 2020.
Shafique out earlier 102 (184)
Current Run Rate of 4.21 with Shafique and Masood putting on 253.
Interested to see how England bat on this pitch, Root and Duckett most likely to cash in you'd think.
Brook will love this pitch. Made bulk runs in the Odi and tests two years ago there. Pakistan produces the worst pitches in the world by far, just so flat.
However please stop.picking woakes overseas just doesn't work and never has unfortunately.
Pakistan all out for 556 from 149 overs, ideal start to the series for them.
Salman Agha 104*, he put on 85 for the 9th wicket with Afridi.
Leach 3/160 from 40 overs.
Time for Bazball but looks like Duckett injured his hand catching the last wicket at first slip off a Joe Root bouncer.
Brook joins the Hundred party.
England 3/434 from 87 overs, trail by 122
Root 152* (236)
Brook 109 (129)
35 test hundreds for Root, I know this pitch is an absolute road but it's actually f**ked how well he has been playing, literally does what he wants and makes it look so easy.

Bazball seems to be the best thing to ever happen to Root.
Allowed him to develop his aggressive play and an increased range of shots. Over time now he has found that perfect balance and can bat at multiple speeds pending the situation (something the deadbacks could learn) and has become an absolute weapon.

One.last place for him to conquer in 15 months time. Does that and his all time ranking keeps going up.
Quite fascinating to look at the big 4 of this generations stats. If you rank them purely on stats it has to be;
1) Smith - only team or place he slightly struggles is against SA where he averages low 40s. Dominates everywhere else (exclude the minor Bangladesh series), just a remarkable player.
2) Root - Dominates everywhere bar Australia. Averages 36 here which is why the Australian public don't rate him as high but has had to carry a average batting line up for a long time.
3) Kohli - The best to watch probably but has one glaring weakness against the swinging ball, shown by his low 30 average in England and NZ. Has had one unreal series in England though. Loves Australia which always helps with your reputation.
4) Williamson - actually doesn't have a great record against Australia, India and England. Made a ton in all those places but a lot of low scores. Pretty easy decision in 4th when you look into it. Still quality and carries a huge burden but I'd argue not quite on the same tier as the top 3. This series in India will be huge for them.

Agree with all that....on Smith, what do the average blokes average in SAF. I feel like low 40's would be above average over there, especially in recent years.
