Redbacks coach Berry takes personal leave
cricket.com.au

Jeff Vaughan takes over as caretaker coach as Berry steps aside indefinitely

West End Redbacks coach Darren Berry will step aside for an indefinite period of time for family reasons. The South Australian Cricket Association say there is no time frame on Berry's return to the position and confirmed that assistant coach Jeff Vaughan will take on the role of caretaker coach in the interim. Berry has asked for privacy in relation to the reasons for his personal leave and the SACA has requested that his wishes be respected. "Darren has asked SACA for an extended period of personal leave and we have respected his wishes to do so,” SACA General Manager High Performance Tim Nielsen said in a statement. "There has been no time limit put on Darren’s leave and the SACA will give him as much time as he needs. "I would like to stress that Darren remains the coach of the West End Redbacks and Jeff Vaughan will step into the role in a caretaker position. "We have fantastic support staff in our High Performance department and have every confidence in our coaching team and our senior players to lead the team through the second half of the Bupa Sheffield Shield season."

Berry was at the helm of Adelaide Strikers as they finished top of the ladder after the preliminary rounds of the KFC T20 Big Bash League before their campaign was ended in the semi-finals by Sydney Sixers on Saturday night. With BBL|04 drawing to a close, Vaughan will take the reins as the Redbacks prepare for the resumption of the Sheffield Shield on February 7.

SA face a tough task to turn their season around and make the Shield final; they currently sit in fifth place on the ladder with one win from five matches.

Big announcement coming on Monday, apparently....
Not relative to Berry, but the Berry Era.

Just a teaser.

But Trav, Jim?

The lad has only just cemented his spot in the side...

I agree with replacing Botha though, not sure if Head is the right call though.

Ferguson would be my pick.

Meant you beauty Botha is out, now to get him out if the side completely.
Strange selection of Trav, as you said only just cemented his spot, would of liked him to concentrate on his batting for a bit longer but hope he does well, im sure he will give it a real good crack

Has to be Ferguson.

Travis Head should be focussing on turning one of these 90's into a century!

Obviously Tim Nielsen made this call, hope it is not sign of things to come if he is going to be making decisions like this!
