Are you new to following footy? A long way to go yet, footy is a funny game, finals are an even funnier game - things happen.

Out of 3 teams . Glenelg , Sturt and Norwood. I hope North can sneak in as they might rattle a few at their best. Also better attendance figures.

So it comes down to the final round to determine the minor premier, the top 3 and the final 5. Despite the same 5 teams occupying the top 5 spots on the ladder since Round 2.

If Central defeat Port at Elizabeth, they finish 3rd and hand Port the wooden spoon.

If Port win, then all eyes head to The Bay;

Glenelg would need to beat South to finish 3rd and that would hand South the wooden spoon. If South win, they avoid the wooden spoon no matter what.

It's even tighter in the other two games at Woodville and Unley, where the Eagles must beat Norwood to secure 5th position, or hope Sturt defeat Adelaide. Norwood sits atop the premiership table, and have done so for 2 months. They only have around a 6 goal break (2 goals actually - thanks Pseudo) on Sturt on percentage, so will have an eye on the score at Unley to ensure they do enough to maintain that gap in percentage. Adelaide could sneak into the 5 with a win over Sturt and a Norwood win over the Eagles, thus delaying the entire club celebrating Mad Monday in August.

North play West in a friendly at Prospect.

Two goals break, given current F and A scores.

Ravens usually put in effort until Prelim week so I give them a huge shot of taking it to Sturt this week.
The Eagles absolutely embarrassed us earlier this year at the Parade so would be nice to return the favour

Sturt to win by 10 goals. Crows will be resting/ putting blokes in for surgery this week in ready for the 2025 preseason.

They’ll be more than happy for all their listed players to start their six week break on Mon 26/8.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Just had a closer look at the Minor Premiership battle between Norwood and Sturt to be decided next weekend.
Norwood have averaged scoring 81 points and conceding 53 points per game this season so let’s assume Norwood defeat WWT 81-53.
Norwood would finish the minor round with 15 wins and Points For 1450 and Points Against 954 resulting in a percentage of 60.3161%.
Sturt have conceded an average of 50 points per game this season so let’s assume they hold Adelaide to just 50 points at Unley.
If Sturt then score 88 they would finish the minor round with 15 wins and Points For 1368 and Points Against 900 resulting in a percentage of 60.3174%.
So, if the teams hold their opposition to average scores this round, then Sturt need a winning margin of at least 10 points greater than Norwood’s winning margin.
If these 2 games turn out to be “average games” next Saturday there’s going to be a lot of calculators employed in the final quarters!!
The battle for 5th spot between WWT and Adelaide is pretty straightforward.
Should both teams win their games then Adelaide would have to overcome a percentage deficit of 3.62% to take 5th spot from WWT.
A 30 goal win over Sturt might do it!!

Don't forget if the Eagles and Crows both lose and North win by about 300 points then the Roosters are playing finals!
Considering Westies beat us by 5 goals last time we just need a 55 goal turn around! :D

Yeah no one was knocked out last week (8 left) - I went Sturt this week, hoping some may have gone for your mob but presuming most went either Sturt or the Legs

If North do get up by 300 points over West but miss out on a finals spot cos WWT beat Norwood with a goal after the siren you'll have every right to feel a bit miffed !

Still 8 left, all games still available to be picked from. Surely the Bays bounce back this week
