Hopefully this is the year Head finally goes on to hit some big scores as well!

From all reports its been tough. But if its 38 degrees and you stroll to into the 90's or maybe push that bowling spell out 1 more over increased fitness is only going to help....

you get the feeling that as soon as he cracks the 3 figures he will just score a mountain of runs.

But then again he does play for SA so there is that...

How come he's not playing ODD cricket this season? I would've thought he would still be good enough to make some state's squad.

Didn't have a great limited overs season last year and also took up a County contract for the full season on a British passport.

Maybe Schwerdt wants to work with him here in Adelaide for a couple of weeks.

Thanks guys, good luck to Cossie. I know he's never really presented himself in the best shape but I've always felt he's been a bit hard done by by selectors especially of the SACA variety so if he wants a more stable and perhaps more lucrative environment in England all the best to him.

IMO, he's better than 2/3 of the batsmen in the various Matador Cup squads.

With the current plight of Australia's top order, is it too late for Cossie?

By the look of it he is fitter than ever and could be set for a big year ahead and keep in mind picking blokes in their 30's isn't out of the equation for Australian selectors.

Interesting concept for selectors regarding the rules seeing as for the squad lists he is classified as Overseas. Does this forfeit his national selection chances?

But plays as a local in the UK. Are you able to have both?

He holds dual citizenship, so I guess he can play for either country

As BR 84 said, he holds duel nationality. Plenty of people do.

I think Andrew Symonds was in a similar situation - he could have played for England if he'd wanted.

Interestingly, unlike in soccer, where you become ineligible to play for another country as soon as you play in a competitive international, several cricketers have played for different countries. Dirk Nannes and Eoin Morgan are recent examples. Kepler Wessels is obviously another.
