Good post. Gary Lyon has made a good living out of taking the p*ss out of people on the footy show and when it's his turn to stand up and admit he f*cked up........he goes into hiding and cites 'mental illness'. He's as weak p*ss!!
It's a strange thing that we feel he has to stand up and admit he fu&ked up to us, the public. I'd think the people he needs to stand up to are his friends, family and colleagues. Do you think he's citing 'mental illness' to get away from them? How do you know that this situation hasn't precipitated the mental health issues? You don't. Neither do I. I don't like people hiding behind mental illness (if they are). I'm not defending it. But none of us know if he's "hiding" none of our business - either his mental illness, or whatever preceded it.
If he has a mental issue which I have no reason to doubt.......that is a separate issue to banging your mates missus so not sure why it is even mentioned.

He doesn't have too ............. But he makes a good living out of the public and making 'light' of their misfortunes from time to time, so it makes sense that the public would like to know the truth from this 'story'.

Don't get me wrong I love the footy show but, I got the feeling it was getting a little bit 'stale' this could see a huge revamp of the show. Could we see Eddie ride in on a white horse and try to save the day????

Seems the "mental illness" term can cover "many" things .....falls under a large umbrella.
Looks like Lyon has picked something it "may" cover!

If so many of you like Lyon, at least give him the decency of some time and space to sort out his own issues.
If indeed he has a serious mental illness the attacks on here show how immature society still is in handling these matters, regardless of the catalyst.
Finally, people still watch the footy show? Surely they've worked out who has the smallest dick by now?
I think the main reason a lot of people/media are having fun with this is the history of the footy show making fun of other peoples issues with their stupid song parodies. Having said that I don't give a shit who is shagging who, I actually enjoy the footy show and the banter between the regulars. Not sure it will recover though unless they replace Lyon with a similar type i.e. Dunstall but(he is too heavily invested in Fox and would never step foot back in that studio. But money talks...

That's why I like "Footy teams" I think it's called on Fox Thursday nights. An hour show that spends about 6 minutes on each game without all the glam and non-football related crap.

They wern't divorced they were seperated, how do you know that they were not trying to patch things up when Garry stepped in? Mind you Nicky Brownless seems to have escaped the attention here also, Im sure Billy is just as dirty with her.
For those that whinge and complain about the footy show, that's what a remote control is for.
Im sure Garry is getting assisted by his management and close friends, he would be told to keep low for a few weeks, it will then be out of the news and then he will come out and give an interview with someone and we will all move on.
