Correct me if Im wrong, but weren't his mental health issues known toward the end of his time at the Bulldogs.

From the article I'm gathering he stalked and harrassed his wife, who just asked for a divorce, which seems like something someone with mental health issues would do.

I know how my dad was when my parents separated.

It's not necessarily an excuse, but it's probably a factor. And media like to use buzzwords, which is why it gets into the headline.

He's been getting treatment since being let out after the incident, so it looks like he's at least addressing it now. You can't always predict when you're gonna snap.

Jaeger O’Meara will don the brown and gold until at least 2023, having put pen to paper this week on a new four-year deal.

The announcement comes at a pertinent time for the Hawks midfielder, who is currently enjoying career-best form. Despite missing the weekend’s clash against St Kilda, O’Meara has averaged 28.7 disposals, 7.6 tackles and a goal a game in his first three outings for 2019.

“It was a relatively easy decision from both parties. Both Jaeger and his management TLA made it a really smooth process, and it’s pleasing to have it sorted so early in the season.

“He’s become such an important player for us, not only through his on-field performance but also from a leadership sense as well.

“He sets a great example for his teammates with his professionalism and work ethic.

“We’re excited to watch his continued development over the coming years.”

TBH, I hope his injury woes are behind him, he burst on to the scene like he was a 50+ game player.

- We just can't cover the injuries, don't have enough AFL quality players
- Mitch looked good today, definitely worth continuing the experiment for a few weeks.
- Connor (didnt get a single kick) and Mirra would have to thinking about Box Hill for next week
- Can't imagine if McEvoy is seriously hurt

Yep- our depth just cant cut it. We started rolling over Box Hill dead wood last year and it needs a trim again at the end of this year.

Mirra, good story, unfortunately he's just not up to it, has proven that over the last season and a half. We must have nothing in his position that he keeps getting dropped and brought back in again.
I don't mind persisting with Nash, Mitch Lewis also looks ok. Whats the alternative to Nash, Shoey? Upside to Nash is far greater

I'd persist with anything that can do more than 2 touches in a game. I agree Nash has some qualities which COULD be very useful, and his first 3 weeks were OK, but we cant go on gifting games to the bloke. I'd back Dylan Moore or Miles to get the ball more than twice. Be interesting to see if we could just throw him onto someone like Cripps just to shadow him and lay a few tackles.

Carlton are a real chance to knock us off this week. If we trail at 1/4 time she'll be over.

People who have no idea what is going on in someone else's life shouldn't cast aspersions on those who may be struggling for one reason or another, that's what I think.

It's a slow burn, but people are starting to understand. Not all, but we'll get there.

Its not an excuse, but it could well be a reason. Every 3 hours in this country we lose someone to Mental Health issues, would you rather this keeps happening or do something about it and support these people??

Anyone with a mental health issue should be given as much support as they need.
Seeking help is the first step.

But they are still responsible for their actions.
