The first time in a Test match that a team has made 5 centuries and lost the match.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

The ICC have introduced several changes to their playing conditions including a stop clock in test cricket.
A year after introducing a stop clock in white-ball formats, the ICC has decided to introduce it in Test cricket as well because slow over rates have been a long-standing problem in the format. According to the rule, the fielding side must be ready to start an over within a minute of the previous one ending. They will receive two warnings from the umpires if they fail to do so. After those warnings, the umpires will impose a five-run penalty on the bowling team. Warnings will be reset to zero after each block of 80 overs. Also, the clock will be counted upwards from 0 to 60. The rule has already been in play since the beginning of the 2025-27 WTC cycle.

I expect TDK to come back at me and put me back in my place with some stats [emoji38]
I don't recall him bowling a spell where he's been completely on top of the batsman. He has the ability to bowl the odd good cherry but in the main is too inconsistent to really trouble most class top orders and Englands top order is that.

102 wickets at 31.83, SR 54 Econ 3.5.

So every 9 overs he's 1/31. Hardly world class.
I think Booney is right and I don’t have any stats at the moment to defend him but I'll have a look at his record and see if there's anything outstanding that's worth posting, I can't stand the sight of him though, comes across as an absolute coat and I enjoy watching him getting hit around the park.

The second England v India test starts tonight at Edgbaston, India have played eight tests there and haven't won. England's team is unchanged.

Not sure why you're surprised. England will bowl first most of the time and to be fair English pitches at the moment just get better to bat on. Kind of similar to NZ wickets now just less green to start with. Funnily English wickets have become flatter then Australian pitches the last few seasons.

Exactly, it's obviously just the method they look to go with now, they have the confidence to chase anything in the forth innings. The pressure is on India to score really big in the first innings and more so bowl better than what they did in the first test.
Armchair expert wrote:No Bumrah and Siraj survives...
It was forecast that Bumrah wouldn't play and would be rested in either the second or third test.
Sudharsan potentially stiff to be dropped after just one match?
I would of liked to have seen Kuldeep play (and maybe to a lesser extent Arshdeep), Reddy and Sundar appear to be defensive options.

Good start by India, currently 5/387.

They need to go really big here in this first innings with the way that these Bazzball pitches play.

England currently 3/77 going in day three so India is on top at the moment.
Day 2 stats- https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/eng- ... in-1493326
Gill's 269 is the highest test score by an Indian captain and the highest score by an Indian outside Asia.

Pope making a hundred in the first test might be a real negative for us moving forward. They will continue to pick him even though he'll only play 1 good innings in 10 at number 3, he will get tortured in australia at number 3. Never seen a worse batter in the first 20 balls of an innings.

On the other hand I really love Smith, he has a real presence at the crease.
