Do you think Port are in the same league as a Melbourne though? Surely whilst a flag is the ultimate goal, there should be some realism around expectation?

How they stuck with Goodwin?
Hardwick with Richmond Thompson with Geelong
The sell does get bloody hard though when a coach has been there as a long as Hinkley though.

Hardwick flag in his 8th season, Thompson in his 7th, Goodwin his 5th Hinkley is in his 10th season…

Surely that wouldn't constitute a 'success' given Port by their own admission were in the premiership discussion prior to round 1.
In some respects that could be viewed as a success, given it would be their first win in a knockout final since 2014.
But yes given the expectations prior to round 1 he would need a flag to save him. The 'old' Port would have nailed Kenny to the floorboards after 2016.

The burning part for me is that we've had the cattle and the window has been open, Hardwick and Goodwin were building towards towards the window.
Witnessing the Richmond prelim was hard watching live, the lame effort of the Bulldogs prelim was sickening considering how well we nullified the Bont and Dunkley in round 23.

Quite the opposite, we looked spent at the end of 2010, we were 10 goals behind Collingwood and losing one of the greatest players of all time. I was at the final game in 2010 and 2011 and the transformation was amazing. 2011 was one of the best coaching feats I've seen but yeah it was a while ago now.
