If that’s the case do you bat or bowl first?
Probably a good toss to lose.

Bat

Guaranteed two sessions to get the most of day time conditions before the near impossible night time conditions take over.

If you bowl first you may only get a session, 1.5 sessions or no sessions before nighttime

Just showed figures that the early session has more wickets taken with the pink ball than the last session

I think it’s a bit of a myth about the night session.

Yeah saw that it was very interesting

I wonder how that compares to pure day time tests

The state also showed the run rate drops at night. I reckon that’s more where it comes from in terms of it being harder to bat.

Reckon England have gone pretty defensive with their selections as well

Overton offers nothing over Jake Ball with the ball but is a much more capable bat in the mould of Starc

Yup, not a good look.

Willis at Adelaide 1982 and Hussain Brisbane 2002 all ended in tears
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The batting units are going to win this test.

Whichever batting unit can give the bowling units enough to bowl at will win this.

Who wants to stand up and do the hard yards batting?

IMO Overton looked good in the tour match. He looked lively on the 3rd night when they had the CA XI 6-22. Not surprised he has come in.

Get Warner and Smith out early and the Poms are a real chance here.

Ball had ankle issues which isn’t helping him

I've seen a bit of him in county cricket and was slightly surprised he even made the squad but like you said he did bowl well in the tour game

Hopefully I'm right lol

Very defensive early by the Poms. Man on the fence at backward point to Warner in the 3rd over.
Bring him up and let Warner have a dip early
