This was a profitable league run by Volunteers only, I guess it costs our club about $1000 to have paid administrators now.

We won't be wasting our time filling the forms in, we'll stay in NEMJFA thanks

If you have 5 teams that is $1,000 for team nominations plus $20 per player - does that mean you only have 35 players to play in the 5 teams?

If your 5 teams have on average 20 players in each then you would have paid 100 x $20 - $2,000 just in player rego fees

What are you talking about EM?
$1000 for Team Nominations, There is no team nomination fees at NEMJFA.

there was a club nomination fee and that was only $100 per club which I did forget about.
plus the $20 per kid,

so our total was actually $1,800.

Just wonder EM how much homework you guys have done ??? the proposal has more holes than ned kellys armour including 1 full time administrator for over 200 teams ? will be interesting to say the least i can already see the stress leave forms being filled out.

I must give Kernahan a hug for looking after that many teams, and 18 more clubs, by himself.

Got the people to double that effort?

I've also heard of 2 different blokes that reckon they'll get a job out of this. That's going to end very ugly.

Assuming you'll get the Exec of each association is not a good idea.

Not sure where you got that idea smac.
And yes, we have the infrastructure in place to double the effort.
The extra staff member is exactly that - an extra person to what is already in place.

Yep, potentially misread the intent of your statement there. But infrastructure doesn't turn up to Sunday morning games when a coach needs observing. Or the extra meetings that will be involved. Or... Or... Or...

Careful not to underestimate the work involved. Junior footy is a completely different beast to manage when compared to senior footy.

This should not happen, the only reason the SAAFL want this is to get extra funding.

Interesting to note that the first thing SANFL Club's talk about is to cut junior programs

And I'm not sure what is left to cut with some programs!

Sounds like a trite line to me, "won't somebody think of the children?". They'll make it work, somehow.

But it has no relevance to this topic. Unless you include SANFL juniors in your proposal?

Think it refers to the comment about this idea of the SAAFL taking over juniors is motivated by $$$

Only positive I can see is that as the kids get older they won't have to worry about signing transfer paperwork when they get into seniors.

Adelaide is the only mainland state capital that has one metro amateur football league covering the entire city limits. Surely they have enough worries now servicing those teams without the added pressure of administering juniors as well....

What about the money junior leagues get when a player is drafted to the AFL and more after playing certain numbers of games.
The Junior Leagues get more than the clubs get and the club do all the player development work!

Wouldn't the SAAFL get this money if they look after the juniors?

The SAAFL already get a component of it as they are deemed the zone - hence theyget the zone proportion
The SAAFL uses this money to fund the U/18 comp each year (20 teams this year I think)
All Clubs that nominate U/18 sides are not charged any sort of fee from the SAAFL

It isn't a great deal of money, maybe $5k - $7.5k a year

Also varies from year to year depending on who gets drafted and where from

SAAFL have made an amendment to charges for junior teams and reduced it

All teams will now be $200 regardless of what age groups
