Dennis Commetti made a good point about it on triple m. He thinks it not so much WC getting undeserved free kicks because of the crowd influence, its more the silence from the crowd when the interstate team should get one.

So it was noise, now it's the silence.

I’d put it down to Margetts just being a cheat.

Lol, bit of a grumpy game to watch. While Essendon were excellent we were very much not.

But I stand by Jim being a grumpy bum. But he'll most likely be the happiest grumpy bum today.

Essendon have been super. Great run and carry with super quick ball movement.

It's why Essendon have the wood over us mate, our small forwards ( Wingard, R.Gray, S.Gray ) work hard to lock the ball in but aren't super quick and the likes of Saad, McGrath and co get the ball out quick and we don't get our zone set up. They're a dangerous side when they have the chance to run from the back half.

Really looked last night like one side didn't show up ready to play and the other one did. I usually hate using that term but that first quarter last night made the Eagles look like they were drinking their own bath water.

It's simple..

Optus Stadium = almost same as MCG (dimensions)
West Coast cant win at the MCG, Essendon can.

8)

What's with the strobes going until the moment the umpire bounces the ball?

I wonder if they have warnings for people entering the stadium regarding the display.

There should be numerous warnings for people entering any stadium in Perth for a multitude of reasons...

I was there a couple weeks back and don't remember seeing any warnings.

I couldn't believe that, at the start of the game the lights still seemed to be flashing as the ball was bounced. I don't really understand it, it looks shit and its as annoying as hell when they are trying to interview players after the game.

Adelaide Oval displays a warning about the lighting, although it is normally a good 90 mins before the game starts when bugger all people are there.

After a port goal a couple of rounds ago, (Geelong game from memory) the play resumed for a good 30 seconds before the lighting guy realised not all the lights were back on after they do that "power surge" light display thingy.

Bit of a downer from last night with Mason Redman likely to miss a month with an ankle injury picked up in the last quarter. I’d guess Francis will come in now
