Won't White miss 3 games? Isn't 21 days if you're an SANFL player, but AFL players only take 14 days to recover? Another one of those unfair rules the AFL players have to endure.am Bays wrote:How?bertiebeatle1 wrote:Great to see the SANFL embarass themselves again
Based on these https://sanfl-content.imgix.net/content ... L_2024.pdf
it's been graded the lowest possible conduct (careless) the outcome is severe based on the concussion - White will miss at least two games the only possible room for manoeuvre for Port is, is the contact high (four weeks) or three (body) - p 22 of the linked document.
Yep in the past this would've been included in a 2020's version of MMM Rockin' Footy DVD as one of those incidents we all loved 10 years ago but as we all know the our sport takes concussion much more seriously hence why we get this outcome (match review sanction) when players choose to bump.
As your most decorated Port Power player Kane Cornes (4 x BFs 1 x premiership) said on SEN breakfast on Monday - the bump is dead
PS these guidelines would apply if you were in the VFL competition, just quietly

White should be available for the Norwood game on Sunday July 7th. That will be 22 daysDogs64 wrote:Won't White miss 3 games? Only if he doesn't have a recurrence of symptoms in Stage 2 or 3 of the RTP. That may delay his return. I don't know what his concussion history is either. That could impact upon his RTP as well.Thiele wrote:White should be available for the Norwood game on Sunday July 7th. That will be 22 daysDogs64 wrote:Won't White miss 3 games? Dixon has plead guilty to hopefully reduce the suspension to 2 weeks.
Hoping to reduce from severe impact to high impact.

Lots of interesting social media commentary from port folk ‘he didn’t get him high, the player the concussion from hitting his head on the ground, Charlie didn’t hit him, Charlie did nothing wrong.’

Re: Round 10 Port v West
It's ridiculous, from what I've seen some people commenting on the incident are delusion with comments highlighting that the SANFL are corrupt and biased against Port for the decision being upheld, others are trying to be funny suggesting that it's a blessing in disguise that he won't be playing in the senior side for three weeks.MW wrote:My favourite "It's because Charlie is big"mots02 wrote:Lots of interesting social media commentary from port folk ‘he didn’t get him high, the player the concussion from hitting his head on the ground, Charlie didn’t hit him, Charlie did nothing wrong.’

That’s the funniest one of all along with the comment can’t wait to leave and watch it (the SANFL die)mots02 wrote:

Just shows how little of an understanding they (the vocal minority of Port fans) have of how footy in this state is funded and how the SMA works.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

For well over 18 months the onus has been on the player to protect the opponent, if you choose to bump and the player gets concussed you will be suspended. It's not more complicated than that.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
If you want to go far, go together.

So he’s appealing the outcome of the challenge, after challenging the original decision. Where to if they’re unsuccessful again tomorrow?
