That'll be standard across all clubs, one suspects.

Not as bad as it looks, 15 of them played none or minimal footy for North's league team last year, but not so good news for North's reserves. The gap between league and reserves looks like widening further.

Will certainly test the clubs depth in 2014.

Zac Milbank can also add to the out list for the Eagles.......Lachlan Carey, Zac Fitzgerald and Nick Joyce.

Again, disappointing that the eagles coaching staff didn't rate Fitzgerald highly enough last season to give him a bit of hope going forward. Hopefully he has a year or two off then we can entice him back when Godden moves on.

Carey is no loss.

Surprised about Nick Joyce. Admittedly he showed nothing in the last 2 years to suggest why he was on the Crows list but he must have some talent. He could well be a late bloomer so would have liked him to have another crack for a year or two before pulling the pin.

Ferret - do you have any news regarding whether the eagles are targeting a ruckman? At the moment Bornholm is our #1 and while he improved out of sight last season, I am not sure whether he is able to take the lead. Aside from him, there was nothing in the reserves - Heinjus is reseves level at best.

It is disappointing with Fitzgerald as he has the talent, but he did get first crack last year and I thought he was unfit and slow playing that half forward role. Probably was best suited to deep forward, but Ainger had that role. Easy in hindsight, but with Salter having an average season and then as soon as he gets delisted, pissing off to Canberra, there goes a season of development we could have had with Fitzgerald. Same applies to Heath, how much did that effect Sumner's season having Heath play his role and/or getting game time in to someone like Muirhead. Thankfully we won't have to deal with AFL listed players any more. Joyce and Carey no great loss, although Carey probably saved his best game for the final so was handy as depth.

Is Fitzgerald going to RSMU?
Add Joyce to that list of duds that were drafted from the Eagles ;)

True

But seriously, I am thinking maybe 2-3 years ahead. By that stage he would have been in the job 6 years. Not too many coaches last that length of time anymore so wouldn't be surprised if he is gone by then.

Heard today that Centrals tried to entice Heath Lawry back to the ponderosa but couldnt compete with South Gawler. I was told if he plays every game with South he earns 28k.

It does but then again how many SANFL clubs would be able to afford to spend much more than they do now?

Any truth in the rumour floating around that there is an SANFL club that has compulsory weight training sessions but most of the players in the league squad don't attend those sessions...could explain why the clubs backline leaks like a sieve come finals time................................................
