From seeing the two divs in previous years I would say that the standard is very similar amongst the top few sides of each comp. the bottom end sides in div 6 are a fair bit behind the pace of div 5 though!, which is obviously quite evident this year when you look at AV, MP and Mawson Lakes.
I went to Trinity today and saw the most disgraceful umpiring I've ever seen. My favourite decision of the day was by the clueless umpire (not the cheat, the other one) who gave North Haven a free because a Trinity bloke had it in his hands and another Trinity bloke wrenched it from his hands.
The frees were bewildering. The marks were astonishing. And I am just flabbergasted....

Pretty sure that is a throw under the definition
Once a player takes possession of the ball he must dispose of it by either kicking or handballing it. Any other method of disposal is illegal and will result in a free kick to the opposing team. This is usually called "incorrect disposal", "dropping the ball" or "throwing". If the ball is not in the possession of one player it can be moved on with any part of the body.

If they only knew what a mark, tackle, holding the ball, holding the man was, I would've been ok with it.
BTW, technically he didn't even have a chance of getting rid of it.

Perhaps read the results before you read the ladder...

Ah whoops my bad! When I was looking at the ladder on the app I only seen from position 2 down, didn't see North Haven at the top with 21.
Umpiring in the havens game was a disgrace, umpires trying to even up games by cheating! We've copped it for the last month, umpires making rules up constantly! We were aweful yesterday but would be great to get a fair go! Shouldn't matter where you are on the ladder!
Havens have copped poor decisions against them for many many years. Very disappointing too as I feel it's often unjustified! Havens have always been a hard at it side but never a side that warrants extra attention from umpires. That aside I just hope Havens keep at it and work for each other in order to have a real crack at finals
Not a hard luck story , we played aweful and didn't deserve to win, was told after the game that one of the umpires was TOS B grade ump from last year, and he cheated all day Saturday
