Messi far and away better footballer and person for that matter. Ronaldo is an absolute toss bag who loves himself to death. Messi doesnt ever say peep and is very humble. performs every week at the top level, destroys teams single-handedly in CL, Ronaldo scores 4 against crap teams and disappears against top class opposition.

Messi does the basic, simple things amazingly. Ronaldo does the fancy things well. Messi has an amazing team around him. Personally they are two different players in different position but like Pele and Maradona where different position players people still want to compare. Both are the best at there positions in the world.

Messi for me.

He makes heaps more passes and assists than Ronaldo and is more team orientated. We all know about Ronaldo's propensity to dive and try to draw fouls. For instance in 2011 Messi was fouled 67 times compared to Ronaldo's 83 despite making twice as many dribbles!*
